I noticed that part of my boom was in bad shape, broken. But Ricardo knew someone whom he was certain could fix my part. That's right, here they fix your busted part rather than replace. It's the African way, as opposed to what we're used to in the industrial world. Just buy new. And here a man I will call The Welding Wizard, real name Milton fixed my busted cast aluminium part and made three stainless steel pins. My boom is not going to fall off! We finish the Caledonian Canal by going through the last two locks, and begin our overnight journey to the town of Wick. We have beautiful sunny and calm conditions as we depart, but through the night, storms begin to develop off to our side. As we continue to get even further north, 58 degrees here, the sun is up bright and early at 4:30 am. Plenty of time for us to make it into Wick in the light! We also can't pass through Wick without taking a tour of their famous Pulteney Whisky Distillery. There is a lot of history is this little town! Much love from Scotland! We sail to the island of Meganisi in Greece before hopping over to a stunning anchorage on the Greek island of Kastos. I loved making this video because it reminded me how far we have come. Anchoring with lines to shore feels easy now (most of the time!) and although we still hate Med mooring, it isn't quite so daunting.
