Friday June 8th: The fist day of the NYYC Annual Regatta kicked off today with a race around Jamestown Island. It was a picture perfect day with an increasing southerly breeze and sunny skies treated a fleet of over 140 boats in fourteen classes.

Angeliki Skarlatou (GRE) is a passionate sailor and describes the feeling of being on the water as something 'truly unbelievable'. We'll see her at London 2012 sailing in the Women's RS:X and will no doubt withness her passion for sailing up close.

When you're five years and starting out in sailing, the Olympic Games isn't at the forefront of your mind. This was the case for Evi Van Acker (BEL) who began her sailing life in Optimists before things started to get serious. She will be heading to London 2012, her second Olympic Games and will certainly be one of the medal favourites in the Laser Radial.
