Happy Financial Freedom Friday We did pretty good this month. Really trying to keep the alcohol and grocery budget under control. We will see how we do this coming month. Pat got a really nice bonus from his job and we will also be getting his tax refund. Dinghy-less in a small Mexican town, we come up with the crazy idea of building our own boat! With no prior experience, very limited materials and nothing but the top of a septic tank to work on, we take the project head-on, improvising, jerry rigging and making it work! With the help of my Dad, who is an expert carpenter and woodworker, we go about trying to find all the materials that we need, learning a whole slew of new Spanish words. We go snorkeling at HIGHBOURNE CAY, Exumas, Bahamas. Lovely little island, but also VERY expensive. This is a private island that caters to the big super-cruisers and sport fishers that have made their way over from South Florida. The cost of a single night in a slip is $4.00 a foot. A pack of Oreos is $12. An avacado is $6. Still, even with the costs of goods being the highest we've seen thus far, it's still a beautiful setting in clear blue water.
