Isso porque em marinharia o termo "nó" aplica-se a trabalho de cabo contra cabo, o próprio ou outro cabo. O termo "volta" aplica-se ao trabalho de um cabo contra um equipamento fixo e rígido, como uma verga ou cunho. Isso em geral, ok, e pelos livros de que disponho... 2- A volta do cunho requer usualmente um contorno COMPLETO no cunho antes de iniciar a passagem; se amarrar a um píer fixo ou fazê-lo sofrer grandes forças, até 2 voltas antes, pois a pressão enorme o trava de tal modo que a parte final da Volta o permita desfazer com tranquilidade."
