The first MC 38, Carbonado, in North America competed in the 2012 Key West Race Week, winning her High Performance Division. In the first race of the week, Carbonado beat the fastest Farr 400 by an elapsed time of a minute over 7.40 nautical mile race. Owners Rob and Sandy Butler were extremely pleased with their new boat, which they only took delivery of 3 weeks prior.
