Being night-time there's not much footage to show you apart from the odd squall along the way. We continue to motor into the night At first light we approach the Bulon islands. The water is flat calm and the moon is full. It makes for an atmospheric motor, past floating villages of fishermen rafted up in the their long tails. There is no traffic and, aside from the motor, it's a tranquil start to the new day. With everyone feeling refreshed we make our run down the east side of imposing Tarutao. It's one of Thailand's largest islands and the country's first national marine park. Once a penal colony, it was the perfect place to cast away undesirables. With its unforgiving tropical rainforest, strong tidal currents and fierce salt-water crocodiles escape would have been nigh on impossible. We drop the anchor in the middle of the east side in the lee of a small island that has come alive with bird song. Some of us are now ready to make the approach to Chebilang. So... before we can haul out we spend a night tied up to a fishing boat. As we have explained the river here has a strong tide with a range of some meters, as we were to discover later that evening. In the next episode we really do haul out and crack on with those repairs but in the meantime we wish you all a happy and festive holiday. ****************************** Music has been supplied by kind people who put their stuff out for free. This first video shows the lead up to crossing the Atlantic. The video introduces all the crew members, showcases quite a few of the work we did to get the boat ready, ARC 2015 opening ceremony, provisioning, ARC activities, our one and only practice sail, and the ARC final party. Part 2 and Part 3 included the actual Atlantic Crossing from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria to St Lucia in the Caribbean. I didn't add background music to these videos but most of the video contains video clips rather than still pictures. Here's a crew of 6 adults and one five-year-old crossing the Atlantic Ocean from Gran Canaria to St Lucia following the Rum Line. The transatlantic long passage took us 18 days and we covered 2,800+ nautical miles. This video is part two of three. In part one, I introduce the crew, showcase the lead-up to our departure date, and cover our test sail. In this part, you'll see the first half of our Atlantic crossing - what we saw, what we did, the fish we caught, and my thoughts captured on video. Crossing the Atlantic Ocean is somewhat like groundhog's day - every day we woke up and did the same things, saw the same surroundings. Hopefully, this video won't bore you but give you an indication of what it's like to cross the pond. In part three you can watch the final days of our crossing and our arrival in St Lucia. 14, 2 x 4,25 x 1.65 m steel classic pilothouse sailing yacht, built in ´64 by Cantiere Fiumiconi and a design of Eldredge-McInnes inc.USA, the hull (insideout)was sandblasted in 1994 and painted with a 2 component system, repainted in 2007 and 2010, just now(2014) hull repainted and deck with beige antislip, anti  fouling, new anodes etc The DAF 575 diesel engine from 1974(104HP) has been rebuilt recently and never has run this well.New dinghy with 2,5 HP outboard.
