Einhand ablegen aus der Box ist mit guter Vorbereitung und wenig Wind, mit einem Langkieler ein Kinderspiel. Wir haben einen rechtsdrehenden Festpropeller (rückwärts links). Damit können wir auf dem Teller drehen ohne das Ruder bewegen zu müssen. Wenn der südseitige Nachbar mit seinem hohen Motorboot da ist, wird das Ablegen auch mit Seitenwind (Scirocco) kein Problem. Bei sehr starkem Seitenwind ohne Nachbarschiff verwende ich eine Hilfsleine vom Bug bis zur Winch, die ich über den Dalben lege, damit der Bug nicht abdriftet. Wir haben kein Bugstrahlruder, denn der Dreheffekt mit unserer starken Maschine ersetzt locker ein Bugstrahlruder. Natürlich bedarf es einiger Übung.

In this episode of The Rogue Rigger I take you through the steps to replace the chainplates and tie rods on a Catalina 42. I have done a bunch of upgrades on this boat over the years, including the standing rigging replacement. At the time of the standing rigging replacement I noticed that the tie rod on the starboard side had lots of surface corrosion and that it should be cleaned and inspected further. We are now a few years later and during its recent rigging inspection I recommended that it be cleaned up and inspected. Once I dug into it I realized that its was worse shape and that it was time for replacement. So here we go, replacement time! Enjoy!

You will never believe this ... We still don't and we lived it. We did not see the the UFO's or the ghost orb at the time of filming. There were three of us there and we were all looking the same direction and no one heard or saw a thing. The first time the UFO fly's by the wave noise is slightly louder in the original footage. However, the 2nd time the UFO came by, it was closer to us based on the cloud as a backdrop and the waves were at their lowest decibel in the moment and there is no noise, no lights, and they were not visible with the naked eye. While I did not slow the orb down and freeze frame the footage like I did for the UFO's, it was very compelling to say the least. The third object is believed to be a bug that crosses over the "Pillbox Sunrise" picture. The UFO and orb is still a mystery to us. Let us know what you think in the comments!
