In 2025 First Class Sailing entered two yachts into the Fastnet Race. A Challenger 72 and a Farr 40 called Espresso Martini Too. In the build up to the Fastnet Race the crew took part in some training and 3 weekend qualifying races. For years we've been dreaming of a circumnavigation. With enough experience and the boat we purchased specifically for this purpose, a Wauquiez 40 Pilot Saloon, it was supposed to be possible! But six years after our launch and already 20,000 nautical miles under our belt, the pandemic "caught" us in the Caribbean, just before our passage through the Panama Canal!

Last night's pub crawl was a success, but today we re headed to Seawolf Park on the island to the festival grounds. The Siren Circus was a good show and the band of pirates played plenty of pirate shanty music all day while everyone had fun dancing. São muitas emoções para descrever, muitas histórias para contar e muitas pessoas para saudar. Portanto, O MAIS IMPORTANTE, quero agradecer a todos que compartilharam essa expedição comigo, seja os novos amigos que fiz no caminho, familiares, aqueles que acompanham pelas redes sociais e pelo rastreador satelital, para mim todos empenharam um papel essencial para essa viagem ter sido concluída. O tempo mais precioso não foi só durante as navegações com a vela içada com vento calmo e o barco deslizando sobre as aguas, explorando os caminhos desconhecidos, foi também o enfrentamento das adversidades, problemas como o mau tempo, com motor, eeeeee só... não da pra dizer que teve outros problemas porque todo o restante foi uma maravilha, (depois que passa o perrengue é fácil falar rs :-) ). Foram 7 meses que eu e Ventão ficamos "fora de casa", ainda assim em todos os lugares fomos muito bem recebidos e fico feliz de relembrar esses momentos vividos e experiências compartilhadas com outros navegadores e entusiastas. Ao mesmo tempo que gostaria de citar os nomes de todos que fizeram parte dessa história eu me recuso, primeiro porque poderia comentar um volume de coisas referente a cada um e também porque não quero cometer a gafe de esquecer de citar alguém, que por mais corriqueiros ou pareçam insignificantes, para mim foi muito significante. Seja uma mensagem "estou lhe acompanhando pelo spot", seja por apreciar o simples fato de eu estar compartilhando a história, seja pelos churrascos e comemorações, um casaco emprestado, costurando o bimini, uma dica de passagem, um sorriso alegre e um aceno quando chegamos ao porto, por fornecer endereço para receber encomendas, um agradecimento por ajudar a flutuar uma lancha ou amarrar um veleiro no píer, ou por levar para passear e conhecer essa maravilha que é navegar, todas essas experiências foram muito boas.

In this episode, we explore the evolving anchoring rules in several French Polynesian islands, specifically Fakarava, Tahiti, and Moorea. The local government has recently attempted to implement a system limiting both the number of boats and the designated anchoring zones. Perhaps they are trying to replicate Bora Bora's model, but they lack the established infrastructure that makes it work. Bora Bora is unique in French Polynesia as the only place where boats are required to use a paid mooring ball. The cost is $60 for one night, $40 per night for a multi-night stay, or a flat rate of $600 per month. A ranger collects fees daily and picks up garbage twice a week. Moorings are available in four areas: the Yacht Club, the SW corner, near Bloody Mary’s, and the SE corner. While there are two locations where you can anchor for up to 36 hours, they are in very deep or bommie-filled waters and do not offer easy access to the main town.
