Finally we have Dyneema Chainplates in position, plus we get closer to raising the Mizzen Mast, More watertight battery box progress and shiny new stuff. We have been working on our Chainplates just as we have been working on our Mast tangs with similar goals of - reduced potential points of failure - a very Dyneema friendly rig - simple for DIY, so much that we can repair or re-rig while cruising Here we get to see our first Dyneema Chainplate Loop in position. We work on other tasks related to getting the mizzen mast up and there is always more to do on the conversion to being a fully electric boat. Three years ago, when we bought Vida she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings (much of it not working). Si comincia. Da grigi, torniamo ad avere la pancia blu. Julia è lì, si sta godendo la sua spa. Dopo scrub e primer, tocca all’antivegetativa. Ahimè il meteo non è stabile in questi giorni e anche oggi, dopo le due mani, arriva la pioggia. Dovremo fare di nuovo molte miglia, quindi decidiamo di dare ancora una mano domani, così da, si spera, non dover rifare carena una volta tornati a casa. I lavori stanno procedendo e noi ogni giorno sistemiamo un pezzettino del puzzle. Un puzzle da finire imperativamente prima di partire per le Azzorre. Chicca delle chicche, su consiglio di Alfonso e Anna, vicini di barca di qua, abbiamo usato per la prima volta l’acido ossalico per rimuovere le macchie sulle murate. Tornate NUOVE. Una meraviglia. Non vediamo l’ora di trattare il teck, come ci hanno suggerito loro. Vi aggiorneremo sui risultati. Nossa expectativa pra os mergulhos de Noronha era bem alta, afinal quando dizemos que um mergulho é bom, falamos o nome do lugar "em dia de Noronha". Não nos desapontamos! Mergulhamos com cilindros (com a Noronha Divers) e com snorkel. Amamos os dois! O mergulho com cilindro foi na caverna da Sapata, ponto mais cobiçado pelos mergulhadores de Noronha, é lá onde se vê além dos peixes mais lindos a formação vulcânica da ilha. Era muito interessante olhar para cima e ver o paredão de rocha subindo até a superfície - dava até um gelinho no coração! rs O snorkel foi tão bom quanto (talvez até melhor!). Primeiro mergulhamos no Sancho, a praia mais linda de Noronha! Vimos vários peixinhos diferentes, parecia um aquário! Mas o mais impressionante foi da Praia do Meio. O Chimia, nosso amigo, falou que tinha visto arraia, tubarão, etc... eu entrei meio desconfiada, não era possível que ali, do lado do bar tivesse tudo isso! Mas tinha! E muito mais do que eu esperava! Eu matei minha vontade de ver tubarões! Estava obcecada! Queria vê-los em seu habitat natural! A gente já tinha feito um mergulho de shark feeding, mas era meio "fake", embora fossem mais de 100 animais juntos num frenesi alimentar. Mas em Noronha foi mais especial! Eles estavam ali naturalmente! Lindos, soberanos! Foi muito incrível!
