An attempt to make a tiny working sailboat. Works best going at 90° but it may just be able to go at 45° against the wind??? No sailor experience! Please be kind :) I found it easier to trim than my miniature inflatable raft. Having two sails I can loosen the prow sail so that the aft sail does the work but also makes an aft drag that turns the boat windward, somehow balancing the tendency to turn with the wind. Construction: Hull made out of a cork (cutting pattern coming soon) Sails are plastic bags for sandwiches. Also dog poop bags will work, since the plastic is really thin Masts are made out of a wooden toothpick and a cotton swab Rigging is sewing thread Fins are from a credit card Ballast is a sinking lead

I took the tent and the TRANGIA MINI cooker in the MAC 3.6m boat to meet up with Ralf and Christiane (in their Welsford design PENGUIN trailer yacht. It was the boats 10th birthday. I camped ashore for the night at the Rotomahana Jetty - in front of the old shelter. Hotcakes, coffee and porridge for breakfast at 7am - cooked on the baby Trangia. Ralf brought along his CLC Eastport Praam dinghy - 'Korora'. It splits in half! He built both boats himself. A Very pleasant 36 hours!

Ignoring the fact we have the blue tarp to keep rain out of our sailboat helm, the wind was not nice to sleep to, life is good. Yet is seems that every time you open something, there is a system that wants to sink your boat. They do say the a boat is always slowly sinking, but our boats seems to want to go faster.
