Season 7 : Episode #154 : Scuba Diving, Spearfishing and Emerald Steel Hello Friends, On this episode we spend our last day at anchor at Cabrillo Harbor exploring the sea! I started the day with a shallow water dive with John Conway of SV Felurian where we saw a lot of lobsters, sea fans and a very large school of bait fish! After the dive I rowed over and had an inspiring conversation with Jules and Suzie of Emerald Steel ( https://www.youtube.com/sailingemeraldsteel ) The pandemic keep us at dinghy length but it was wonderful to meet them and share an anchorage with them. In the afternoon a very hung over Camille and myself went for a snorkel so she could try out spearfishing for the first time ! she was using a Hawaiian Sling and although we didn't see any fish large enough to take she did take a number of practice shots and is excited to learn the art of spear fishing! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. Bonjour, 23 Mai 2023 départ de Brest pour Ouessant. La météo annonce un avis de tempête sur la pointe bretonne et il nous faut rentrer sur Roscoff. Nous passons la nuit à Ouessant avant de reprendre la mer le lendemain. Très belle navigation dans une mer relativement calme, mais musclée. Un vent soutenu avec du 35 au maximum dans le passage du Fromveur. A un seul moment la mer est devenus « forte » mais sans risque pour Pierrick II ou l’équipage et ça a duré 15 Minutes. Navigation dans 6 à 7 beaufort ça fait du bien Nous aimons profiter des telles conditions qui forment l'équipage au bon geste, aux bonnes pratiques et surtout nous prenons confiance en notre fidèle PIERRICK II :).
