Este es el video del ultimo trabajo que nos han encargado. El informe de situación del un Vacuover 27. Debo confesar que ha sido uno de los veleros que mas me han sorprendido y de los mas equilibrados y bien construidos de los que me he encontrado durante toda mi carrera profesional. Un barco con claro espíritu viajero, amplias zonas de estiba, fácil maniobra, y esta unidad en particular, exceptuando el motor, todo lo demás estaba muy cuidado. En su maniobra presenta burdas, bueno, no me gusta mucho, pero es necesario ya que monta un trinquete enrollable. El molinete manual te hace ahorrar baterías. Con el ancla Rocna que monta hace que el sistema de fondeo sea excepcional. El timón colgado por popa no me apasiona por estar muy expuesto, pero el anclaje y las fijaciones estaban en perfecto estado, la hélice muy protegida. Espero poderlo probar en navegación y contaros la experiencia. De los barcos pequeños, el puma 26 para el mediterráneo, y este Vancouver para navegación de mas entidad son mis favoritos.

To sail from Panama to the Galapagos, we were told to head South on this passage until you reach the trade winds but we didn't realise how South you had to go or how difficult this may be and that we may also end up going North West and South East while trying to get West. The other thing that made this passage particulary challenging was dodging the lightening storms and dealing with the not so nice weather. Oh well I guess that is sailing..... Da Puerto Calero, Lanzarote, percorreranno 2995 miglia superando le Canarie e navigando attraverso l’oceano Atlantico fino all’isola di Grenada, nei Caraibi orientali. Sulla linea, armati di foil di ultima generazione, i diretti rivali del team italiano: Argo con Brian Thompson (USA), e PowerPlay che vede a bordo i velisti inglesi Giles Scott (tattico di Ineos Team UK in Coppa America e vincitore di due ori olimpici nella classe Finn) e Miles Seddon (che con Phaedo3 nel 2015 ha stabilito il record su questa tratta). Terzo competitor del team italiano è il maxi trimarano di 80 piedi Ultim Emotion 2 di Antoine Rabaste (FRA). Una sfida aperta al record di velocità di 5 giorni, 22 ore, 46 minuti e 03 secondi, stabilito dal MOD70 Phaedo 3 di Lloyd Thornburg nel 2015. Alla boa di disimpegno i trimarani hanno effettuato la prima strambata con ordine di passaggio PowerPlay, seguito da Maserati Multi 70 e Argo, e con leggero distacco da Ultim’Emotion 2. “La situazione meteo si conferma complessa,” ha commentato Giovanni Soldini a pochi minuti dalla partenza. “La grande decisione sta nel rischiare di stare più bassi e avere venti leggeri o invece andare a cercare il fronte freddo al nord col rischio però di non riuscire a riagganciare l’Aliseo sulla fine del percorso e quindi rimanere incastrati nell’alta pressione che si forma dietro il fronte. Sarà una regata molto tattica e noi siamo determinati, abbiamo il coltello tra i denti. Charlie Dalin, skipper of MACIF Santé Prévoyance, who is the leader of the Vendée Globe crossed the equator back into the Northern Hemisphere this Sunday afternoon at 1438 hours UTC. His elapsed time since the start is 56 days, 2 hours, 36 minutes and 23 seconds. His time between Cape Horn and the equator is therefore 12 days, 15 hours, 1 minute and 33 seconds and so he only just misses the best ever time from the Horn to the Equator which was set by Germany’s Boris Herrmann, (Malizia Seaexplorer), on his climb back up the Atlantic in the 2020-2021 race at 11 days and 18 hours. Dalin has led at various key stages, Cape of Good Hope (November 29), Cape Leeuwin (December 9), Point Nemo (December 20) and now, today, the Equator. In terms of the constant head-to-head match with Yoann Richomme (PAPREC Arkea), Dalin has led at these key stages but Richomme led across Cape Horn by 9 minutes and 31 seconds back on 23rd December. More than 7,700 miles (14,200 km) separates the leader Charlie Dalin, (MACIF Santé Prévoyance), from the 35th placed Denis Van Weynbergh, (D'Ieteren Group). Dalin was 123 miles ahead of Richomme when he crossed back into his ‘home’ hemisphere.
