After a day of 30 knot winds sailing we have a sushi picnic. Then we go to a beach made up of only seashells. We arrive at our last marina in France. We set sail for Spain. Bayly makes nachos onboard. We cross the boarder into Spain and Austin switches over our France flag for the Spain one. We arrive at an empty anchorage and old abandoned dock in the dark, Bayly stands watch on the bow as we aren't sure if its deep enough. In the morning we realize how beautiful this area is, Bayly finds a mass of jelly fish near shore and we got for a hike with Lenny. Theres a bear nearby :)

EUR 5000 The Finnsailer 35 for sale initially aimed to undergo a complete electric conversion, along with the addition of a new pilot house and a spacious open interior ideal for living and cruising around the Greek islands. This ambitious endeavor requires someone unafraid of challenges, possessing a passion for problem-solving, and genuinely dedicated to realizing their dream of a custom-made boat. The boat features a robust hull and well-maintained rigging, including a roller boom. Notably, the interior offers impressive headroom for its size, with a height of 195 cm, while the new pilot house provides even greater space at 205 cm. The pilot house, constructed entirely from fiberglass, features a new sliding door. Due to the poor condition of the old motor, it has been removed, although there is potential for restoration. The outdated interior has been stripped away, and the hull was meticulously cleaned of mold before being treated with epoxy primer. A new large bed has been installed using aluminum industrial profiles, and a wooden ramp has been constructed to facilitate ease of access during renovations. Separado, morando sozinho num pequeno barraco, com os filhos morando muito distante (dois no Canadá e a caçula em Paraty) já estava aceitando a vida sedentária. Fazia minhas cainhadas diárias e dançava eventualmente. O restante do tempo era ocupado com leitura, rede social e televisão. Em 2022 fui visitar seus filhos no Canadá e meu filho mais velho tinha comprado um pequeno veleiro para navegar no lago de Montreal. Então, num passeio nessa pequena embarcação, meu filho iniciou um diálogo mais ou menos assim: - Velho! Você já foi um grande aventureiro por que não faz mais uma aventura? - Que aventura, cara! – respondi. - Vir de Veleiro do Brasil até o Canadá. Você precisa sair de casa. Precisa de objetivos de vida. - Você está louco? Nunca naveguei e não tenho dinheiro para comprar um veleiro! – retruquei. - Você não tem uma Previdência Privada? - Sim. Tenho. Mas ela é para quando eu ficar velho. É para minha saúde – respondi. - Mas você já não está velho? (emitiu uma sonora gargalhada). Então você retira esse dinheiro e compra um veleiro. Comece a estudar, assistir vídeos e ler livros. Depois você vende o veleiro e repõe a grana. A sugestão do filho foi como um trauma mental para seu velho pai. A partir desse dia aprender sobre velas tornou-se minha obsessão. Tudo na na minha vida foi relacionado à navegação. Comecei a devorar livros e assistir todo tipo de vídeo no YouTube. No primeiro semestre de 2023 tirei a habilitação da Marinha para navegar em lagos (pré-requisito para as demais). No segundo semestre consegui a carteira de Mestre Amador e, finalmente, em abril de 2024, conseguiu a mais temida e difícil prova aplicada pela Marinha do Brasil: Capitão Amador. O material de estudo para essa prova foi enorme. Vários livros, apostilas, curso grátis no YouTube e sites pagos. Havia dias que o velho pensava que seria impossível passar na prova. Coisas estudadas era rapidamente esquecida pela memória sexagenária. A grana para compra do Veleiro estava resguardada. Era só esperar o momento oportuno. Entretanto, restava, ainda uma questão muito importante: equacionar os custos da viagem com sua pequena aposentadoria. A conclusão foi que a grana seria insuficiente, principalmente quando as despesas fossem em outra moeda. Para piorar, descobriu que chegando ao Canadá, seria muito difícil voltar no mesmo caminho, tendo em vista que existe uma corrente marítima contrária. O caminho de volta mais fácil teria que ser pela Europa e África. Ou seja, gastar em euros. O visto para entrada em cada ilha ou país corresponderá a um quarto da minha renda, sem contar comida, óleo diesel e manutenção no veleiro tudo em dólar ou Euro. Apesar dos estudos orçamentários indicar a inviabilidade do projeto, no dia 14/10/24 mudei para um veleiro adquirido na cidade de Salvador. O planejamento da viagem estima dois anos de vida ao mar, cujo planejamento pode ser verificado nos dois primeiros vídeos do canal “Veio Doido no Mar” no YouTube. Pretendo navegar pela costa brasileira, passar pelas Ilhas do Caribe, passar pelo Canadá, Europa e África. Em torno de 18 meses viajando.

The visit was part of our research to evaluate solutions to maintain and restore the 70 year-old seawall that protects our condominium waterfront along the Indian River Lagoon on South Hutchinson Island, Fort Pierce, FL.

Neste vídeo, na edição do mesmo, utilizei o Filmora 14, e como ele não agrupa automaticamente as células de texto, áudio, foto e vídeo correlatas apanhei bastante para entrar no ritmo e na sincronia com ele, e o mais complicado é quando se renomeia as pastas onde estão as fotos e vídeos, e ao entrar de novo no editor ele não mostra as fotos e vídeos, como se tivesse perdido tudo e dá um trabalhão recompor de novo, por isso demorou bstante completar minha primeira edição nesse bom programa. Enfim, conseguí me entender com o Filmora 14 e completar a edição, sendo um excelente programa de edição de vídeo. Após diversas tentativas frustradas de participar de uma maratona finalmente conseguí completar a Minha Primeira Maratona, em 13/04/2025 na cidade de Manaus, aos 70 anos de idade. Foi uma experiência sensacional, o tempo estava amigável, mas eu não esperava encontrar muitas ladeiras o que desgastou um pouco a performance, principalme te por conta de câimbras a prtir dos 18 Km. A incrível paisagem na ponte do Rio Negro compensa todo o esforço de participar dessa desgastante prova internacional. O meu objetico inicial era estar pelo menos entre os últimos 5 colocados e foi atingido. Foram meses e meses de treinamentos de 10 a 34 Km, em diversos lugares, pistas, montanhas, conveses de navios, trilhas, estradas de chão batido, rodovia BR-101, Quinta da Boa Vista, ao redor do Maracanã, em diversas cidades e estados (haverá outro vídeo sobre isso), muitas superações de doenças (Covid, coração, joelhos, pneumonia...) mas, depois que se passa dos 34 Km do treino mais longo, DESISTIR NÃO ERA UM OPÇÃO, agora era só uma questão de tempo, pois meu objetivo não era velocidade e sim distância. A distância padronizada de uma maratona é de 42,195 Km. A Maratona foi criada em Atenas em 1896, nos primeiros Jogos Olímpicos, homenageando o soldado grego Pheidippides após correr 40 km da cidade de Maratona, onde houve uma batalha, até Atenas anunciando a derrota dos persas que invadiram a Grécia e assim salvar as mulheres com seus filhos. Apenas em 1921 a distância para as provas denominadas como maratona ficou padronizada em 42.195 km. A organização do evento poderia ter colocado algum motociclista para acompanhar os ultimos colocados até o final, principalmente depois do 35 km, (tudo bem que existe o tempo de corte, mas imprevistos acontecem), pois não verificaram se ainda havia alguém participando da prova dos 42K (e pela minha conta ainda haviam 5 a 6 últimos colocados depois da saída da ponte) e retiraram os cones, dificultando a identificação da rota e tive que seguir "o rastro" ( copos plásticos jogados nas ruas, nos quilômetros finais,) segundo uma distribuidora de água, e se alguém passasse mal poderia ter tido sérios problemas, além do que após os 31K não havia mais placas indicativas da distância percorrida nem mais distribuição de água, (td bem que tem o tempo de corte), prevendo isso, guardei 2 copos pro final, e o prof. maratonista e profissional Greg por volta dos 39 Km apareceu e nos deu apoio e água gelada. This episode marks a milestone — my first solo move aboard W. Grebe, our classic wooden sailboat. I start the classic Sabb diesel engine and test the variable-pitch propeller while moving her to a new slip. A little bit of mayhem at the final moments! The Norwegian Sabb diesel is an unusual engine — hand-crankable, simple, and built like a tank. Starting it is unorthodox but deeply satisfying. With the variable-pitch prop, docking requires finesse rather than throttle. It’s a learning curve, but everything works smoothly as Grebe moves under her own power once again. If you’re into traditional boats, slow engineering, or bringing old vessels back to life, you’ll enjoy this one. Salon Windows & Fire Damage Replaced Now that the engine is out from the hurricane and we await the new engine, we start to tackle some of the large projects that will need to be done prior to leaving the dock for safety reasons. Today we are finally able to start to work on replacing all 9 of the salon windows so we can see out and remove the ones from the fire we had onboard and stop the cracking and water leaks when it rains.
