On a warm beautiful day I visited Neil's harbour in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia ================================================ Back in 2019 I decided I did not want to be a 9 to 5  type guy anymore.  I got fed up with this rat race like routine city life and I got hooked on the idea of sailing and living on a boat full time. But with 0 (zero) expirience that would be difficult to achieve... I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of videos about boats and sailing on youtube and got myself registered with dozen boat related forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on his boat. The trip was cancelled two months later for legitimate reasons.  Since I made my way to Nova Scotia I decided to discover this beatiful province before going back to Montreal I have not given up on my dream of sailing. In October 2022 we went to the Azores for 10 days. We visited 3 out of the 9 inhabited island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean (1300 km from Lisbon and 2500 km for New York City). The second island we went to was Pico. Enjoy in the video pictures and drone footage of: - The flight with a small propeller airplane to the island of Pico (from the island of São Miguel, 30 minutes) - Mount Pico (2300 meters), the largest mountain of Portugal, to be seen from every place on this island - The red mills, typical to be seen at many places - Wine Tasting at the property of the youngest winemaker on the Azores: Lucas Lopes Amaral (https://www.adegalucasamaral.pt/nl/) - The black coastline of this volcanic island - The vineyards planted on lava soil of Pico are surrounded by walls of loose stones called “currais” or “curraletas”. The walls protect the vines from the sea breeze, but allow the sun to pass through, which is necessary for the ripening.
