C’est au lever du jour, dans l’écrin préservé du Cap Taillat, que débute une navigation inoubliable le long de l’un des plus beaux littoraux de la Côte d’Azur. À bord d’un catamaran élégant, confortablement installé sur le pont, on quitte lentement cette presqu’île sauvage, classée espace naturel protégé, avec ses criques aux eaux turquoise, ses pins parasols et ses plages secrètes. Le vent léger gonfle les voiles, et le catamaran glisse en silence sur une mer d’huile. La côte défile : Cap Lardier, Cap Camarat, les collines verdoyantes du Massif des Maures, les plages dorées de Pampelonne… Le rythme est paisible, propice à la contemplation. Quelques dauphins curieux accompagnent parfois les navigateurs, ajoutant une touche magique à cette traversée. En approchant de Ramatuelle, la mer prend des reflets changeants, oscillant entre le bleu profond et l’émeraude. L’ancre peut être jetée le temps d’un plongeon, d’une séance de snorkeling ou d’un déjeuner à bord, bercé par le clapotis des vagues. Pour les plus actifs, paddle ou kayak permettent d’explorer les petites criques invisibles depuis la terre. Puis, à l’horizon, se dessinent peu à peu les silhouettes familières de Saint-Tropez : son clocher ocre, ses voiliers prestigieux, et l’animation unique de son port. En entrant dans la baie, l’ambiance change, passant du calme sauvage à l’effervescence légendaire du village. Le catamaran accoste, offrant une arrivée spectaculaire au cœur du mythe tropézien. Flânerie dans les ruelles pavées, visite du vieux port, pause gourmande sur une terrasse ensoleillée, ou balade jusqu’à la citadelle… Saint-Tropez dévoile ses multiples facettes, entre authenticité provençale et art de vivre raffiné.

The first one is that the Jib stick is too long to fit into the stowage, the second is that I could do with trimming down the amount of poles on the boat! Bonjour à tous ! Dans cette nouvelle aventure en solo à bord de mon voilier Antécume, je pars du mouillage de Palinuro pour une série de 4 étapes qui me mèneront à travers la mer Méditerranée. Voici les étapes de ce voyage : - *Étape 1 : Palinuro - Cetraro* : départ du mouillage de Palinuro, mais l'orage me rattrape rapidement, toute voile dehors, c'est une grosse galère ! Mais Antécume tient bon et je réussis à atteindre le mouillage de Cetraro. - *Étape 2 : Cetraro - Vibo Valentia Marina* : le lendemain, un nouvel orage me poursuit, mais l'expérience de la veille m'a rendu plus prudent. Je navigue prudemment et j'atteins la marina de Vibo Valentia. - *Étape 3 : Vibo Valentia Marina - Naxos Taormina* : direction le détroit de Messine ! Il faut être à l'heure pour prendre le courant dans le bon sens. Antécume fait une belle performance et je réussis à passer le détroit avec succès. Après 75 miles nautiques, je fais une pause bien méritée à Naxos Taormina au mouillage. - *Étape 4 : Naxos Taormina - Marina de Catane* : la dernière étape me mène à la marina de Catane, où je vais être rejoint par Dominique et Pierre pour la prochaine étape de notre voyage vers Malte. Alle ore 15,00 circa, dopo 39 giorni di navigazione, siamo rientrati al porto di partenza denominato "Mariclea Club", di cui io ne sono socio. Rientrati sani e salvi ma con un pò di avventure alle spalle ed una esperienza da raccontare. Ad aspettarci, pazientemente, c'erano le rispettive signore Dania e Giovanna. La Dania ci ha accolto con un super spuntino (pranzo praticamente), molto gradito e con una bottiglia di vino bianco buonissimo e freschissimo...grazie ancora. Ringrazio anche tutti gli amici che ho avuto modo di rincontrare, e che ci hanno ospitato e accolto con molto affetto. Da Pier e Susanna, a Tonino La Palma, alla Jole e Paolo ed, infine, Marino da "Cherso"... grazie ancora. Certo che il testo a disposizione non basta per descrivere e raccontare il vissuto condiviso in barca e fuori in questi 39 giorni ma spero che, in parte, i 115 documenti, tra video e post, pubblicati in questo canale possano rendere l'idea di quanto, parzialmente, accaduto. E' stata sicuramente un'esperienza nuova e diversa, che arricchisce il bagaglio del vissuto che ognuno di noi si porta appresso. Situazioni, luoghi, persone, rapporti e convivenza sono gli elementi costanti di una crociera, in particolare di quella trascorsa da noi, nell'Adriatico: da Eraclea a Otranto, e da Vieste per risalire e rientrare verso la Croazia non è una passeggiata. In pratica sono state percorse (approssimativamente): 1012 miglia cartografiche, e 1100 miglia reali (considerando bordi, variazioni ecc), 28 miglia di media/g. Sono state fatte (circa) n. 320 ore tra vela/motore. I costi (media) nei porti della lega navale italiana che ci hanno ospitato, sono stati davvero irrisori, essendo io socio e con tessera del naviglio. In sostanza il costo di ormeggio (misto) per tutta la crociera è stato in media di euro 13,5/cd, considerando che più del 90% l'ormeggio era in porto, e che in Croazia abbiamo pagato i 2/3 dei costi rimanendo solo 1/3 del tempo dell'intera crociera. Per il resto i costi (cambusa, ristorante, tasse e permessi navigazione) sono stati lo stesso molto bassi e senza farci mancare nulla. Una crociera da questo punto di vista "conveniente". Purtroppo ci sono state delle spese per materiale e meccanico, legate a quanto successo per la morchia nei filtri (batteri del gasolio) e altro. Comunque niente di grave o irreparabile. Resta comunque il rammarico e la delusione di non aver raggiunto l'obiettivo che mi ero programmato e avevo sognato da anni ... arrivare in Grecia. Pazienza ci saranno altre situazioni e occasioni per farlo. Per quanto mi riguarda, essendo io l'armatore e il comandante, questa crociera è stata faticosa e con momenti di stress, considerate le grandi responsabilità, e non solo, in capo verso persone e cose altrui. Alla sera/notte, dopo una giornata di navigazione e terminate le varie incombenze, c'era giusto il tempo di dire "buonanotte" e crollare dalla stanchezza nelle rispettive cabine. Per poche ore di sonno, generalmente, perché le partenze vengono fatte sempre all'alba (vedi video), così per avere la giornata intera a disposizione per la navigazione e per tutelarci dagli imprevisti, riparando in tempo in qualche porto vicino, come accaduto. Ci sono stati i momenti di svago e relax, di divertimento con gli amici o di apprensione, di stanchezza, preoccupazione e tensione. Tutto nella normalità in una lunga crociera a vela. Un mix di situazioni e stati d'animo che non hanno reso di sicuro la crociera "noiosa". Concludendo, io sono dell'avviso che anche questa esperienza, come tutte del resto, sia stata positiva perché ha arricchito il nostro bagaglio culturale e di vita in genere. We saw a replica of the Santa Maria coming into the harbor. We had to check it out. Every year there is the Columbus festival in Porto Santo. The Columbus Festival aims to recreate the atmosphere that the navigator encountered during his stay in Porto Santo. At this time, the streets are filled with theatrical performances, concerts and a realistic 16th-century market. An experience, a journey back to the Middle Ages in Porto Santo! On the pier and beach people are gathering to see the Santa Maria as it is sailing towards Porto Santo. In 1478, Columbus sailed to the Madeira archipelago where he fell in love with Filipa de Moniz, the daughter of the first Governor of Porto Santo. He married Filipa. From this marriage was born his son Diego Columbus. Columbus boards a launch and gets rowed ashore. People are eagerly waiting on the beach for the arrival of the navigator and his crew. Anxious to see if everyone is returning back safe and sound and to hear the stories of his voyages and adventures. With our group of cruiser friends, we went to our favorite poncha bar. Where we enjoyed some medieval music while consuming a few bottles of Poncha. During the day the streets and squares are filled with street artists showing their skills. In the evenings there are various performances, circus acts and live music. During the last night of the Columbus festival we were invited by Isabel from our favorite Poncha bar, Poncha do Pescador. While explaining about the history of poncha, She showed us how the delicious poncha’s are freshly made. This is a wonderful place run by Isabel and her husband. It’s only open from Easter until the end of the Columbus festival. Afterwards they return to Madeira where they also have a bar in the old town of Funchal. If you are ever in this part of the world, be sure to stop in and try the Poncha. We are waiting until Easter next year when Isabel returns. Until then we are trying to make our own Poncha’s. The Clifford family is best known for their highly successful Incat business building large commercial multihulls in their Tasmanian yard. Craig, who with his father Bob won Line Honours in the 1994 Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, chartered the Vismara 80 Luce Guida for the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup in Porto Cervo. Join “Moments in Time” for the fifth leg of our odyssey as we depart Veazy Cove in the Bohemia River and follow the Elk River back into the Chesapeake Bay. The day started with a reefed main but finished with barely a whisper of wind before dropping an anchor between Little Island and Maryland’s western shore in the Magothy River. We laid back and relaxed in the four hours of sunshine before cooking a nice meal and turning in for the night. Tomorrow we will be heading back into familiar waters as our odyssey is getting closer to completion. Delmarva stands for Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia and often refers to the eastern peninsula surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay to the west and south, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Chesapeake and Delaware (C&D) canal to the north. Circumnavigating the Delmarva Peninsula is a fun voyage to plan as you have to account for weather, winds, waves, tides, anchorages, various courses, and of course, adventure.
