The island is named after the majestic banyan tree called "Nika" in dhivehi. The giant tree which shoots down its roots into the Nika soil to support its growing weight is home to many types of birds and fruit bats. This tree is believed to be about 350 years old. The constant care and effort of our gardeners keep the vegetation of Nika as a true attraction. Nika Resort is the only island in the Maldives where all the bungalows have their private beach, the best place for a complete relax. Nika is completely surrounded by a wonderful house reef and it's dense of luxurious vegetation where the bungalows are perfectly hidden.

Access to Laoshan is easy as the mountain is located a short 20 km from the city center of Qingdao. We can hop on the 104 bus (1 RMB) and it takes us directly to the Laoshan Tourist Center where the buses depart for both Jufeng and Taiqing all day long. Make sure you sit on the right side of the bus as the bus route to Taiqing is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous with endless ocean views! If you get off at the first bus stop, you can access the path we took up the canyon! We were pleasantly surprised by the many attractions along the path including waterfalls, fruit trees, temples, tea fields, vegetable patches, pagodas, caves, and incredible panoramas. This is a hike not to be missed, but it's not for the faint of heart. The path is steep, but accessible as it is all well maintained stairs. It's a good idea to read up on Taoism prior to hiking so you have a better understanding of what you are experiencing especially when you finish at the Taiqing Palace Taoism Temple. The Ionian Islands are certainly one of the most popular Greek destinations, thanks to the beauty of thee uncontaminated sea between rocks and white beaches, in a unique natural setting, with dense forests and Mediterranean vegetation, uncommon among the Aegean islands, usually rather arid. In this seven day itinerary, we sail along the Ionian Greece staring off from Corfu, with its blue flag awarded beaches, to sail then to Parga, with its labyrinth of alleys, orthodox churches and white houses, Kefalonia and its famous beach of Myrtos and Meganissi with its natural wild coves.  By the end of this itinerary we also interview Petros, base manager at Lefkas Marina. Lefkas is the fourth largest of the Ionian Islands, famous for the extraordinary beauty of its beaches and lies between the islands of Corfu and Kefalonia.  Lefkas Marina is situated on the eastern side of the island. De Partnachklamm ligt ten zuidoosten van Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in het Duitse Beieren. De kloof is ruim 700 meter lang en heeft rotswanden van 80 meter hoog. De Partnach rivier voert smeltwater van gletsjers mee wat zorgt voor een kolkende watermassa in de smalle doorgang. Het water is afkomstig van de gletsjers op de Zugspitze.
