Unser Segelboot Squib, ein Catalac 9M, ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Verkleidung hängt teilweise von der Decke, die Farbe blättert ab, die Elektrik auf dem Stand des vorigen Jahrtausends,..... Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles Andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. 2021 war es dann endlich soweit, mit zwei komplett überholten Motoren und einem neuen Geräteträger starteten wir Anfang Juli Richtung Südfrankreich.Leider hatten wir für die gesamte Reise nur zwei Monate Zeit, deswegen hieß es die meiste Zeit Strecke machen. Doch manchmal nahmen wir uns die Zeit zu verweilen, uns Orte näher anzuschauen. Seitdem lag Squib in der Wiener Kuchelau, und der Refit hatte begonnen. Am 17 August 2025 ist es wieder so weit. Obwohl Squib noch nicht ganz fertig ist, werfen wir die Leinen los und starten unsere erste Etappe donauabwärts. Dreieinhalb Wochen später erreichen wir das Donaudelta, der Mast wird gestellt, ein passendes Wetterfenster abgewartet, in zwei Sclägen überqueren wir das Schwarze Meer bis zum Bosporus. Ohne Einzuklarieren mit gehisster Q Flagge durchqueren wir die Türkei und erreichen 5 Tage später die Ägäis. Über Limnos und die nördlichen Sporaden segeln wir bis in den Großraum Athen, von wo aus Sabina nach Hause fliegt, weil ihr Urlaub zu Ende ist. Um zum wohl schönsten Wasserfall Asiens zu gelangen, dem Kuang Si Wasserfall ca. 40 km außerhalb von Luang Prabang, mieteten wir uns für einen Tag einen Roller. Bereits um 7:30Uhr fuhren wir im Morgennebel los um den Wasserfall ohne den Touristen-Ansturm ab 11Uhr erleben zu können. Ca. 1 Stunde fuhren wir durch die Vororte von Luang Prabang, durch wunderschöne Wälder, an Schlaglöchern vorbei bis hin zum Parkplatz vor dem Wasserfall. Sofort stellten wir den Roller ab und los ging´s. Begleite uns auf unserer Reise um den Globus 🌍.
