The Oday 272 sails to Rincon Island formerly Arco Island along the central coast of California just south of Santa Barbara. Rincon Island is owned by a new oil company. The pier extends out off the coast and literally looks like Gilligan's Island.

We carry on across France towards Antibes passing through the Loire Valley and the amazing Gorges Du Verdon. We’ve pulled the kids from school and are home schooling while on the road and the water. We spend time aboard our 34ft sailing boat in NZ and have bought a motorhome in Europe so as to tour the other side of the world. We’re keeping our memories on video here and the kids write narration and play guitars so we have music to use in the videos.

WETA Trimaran sailing, what a great feeling I have seen this kind of shooting first time on Youtube during an America’s cup race and was amazed about the feeling of being present onboard. The footage above was made on a insta360 oneX camera. I have bought the camera just before the new model came out (unfortunately?). This camera is not waterproof, so you need to use it in a protection case. I personally use the dive case. The new version does not need additional case and this for sure would be an advantage. I have tested the camera on two different setups and have produced special fittings for this. I can now fix the camera on top of the mast (without the case) and it would be even possible to run a cable up inside the mast to charge the battery during the shooting. The battery now lasts for about 90 minutes in the hot season. Cold season only about 1 hour or less. My second position is a mount at the stern. This one I made myself from carbon. In above movie I using an extension on it, so the camera is fixed one meter higher then I would have it during heavy weather or races. Anybody interested to see the setup, just contact me. The stitching and preparation of the movie can be done in the offered apps from Insta 360. However, its a bit of limits. More professional editing suggested to do in Adobe Premier or Davinci Resolve. Well, I was not really aware about this when I bought the camera, but be prepared, you collect huge amount of data. This results that you need a good computer system which can handle the software and the datas. The tracking information is collected be the GPS smart remote controller. The output of this information is not possible in the free capture 360 degree, where you touch the screen and move around as you want (use link below). Hope this info helps so far. Our third tips video, focused on cabin headlinings, specifically ones made from Vinyl with a foam backing. We show the problems we have had, what we would do differently next time and what we are going to do to finish the job. We are refitting a 44 year old Rival 38 for a Sustainable Sailing retirement in a few years. Two years ago, when we bought Vida she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings. We have removed all the gas, diesel and paraffin equipment, and are installing all electric (motor, cooking etc). Now that the inside is dry (thanks to new windows, new hatches and leak chasing) we are fitting her out for live-aboard world cruising.
