Chongqing is located in Southwest China. It's a beautiful city of 30M people, tucked into the rolling hills of that area. The Chinese always say the city and province are known for spicy food and it didn't disappoint. The most popular restaurant is hotpot with more than 30,000 available places to boil your meats and vegetables. At night, the city comes alive especially the area around the river and bridges. There is a 9-10 story touristy shopping area with traditional stalls and items for sale. There is also the obelisk-like monument to the People's Liberation Army, for the victory in the Sino-Chinese conflict. One of the most beautiful and unique buildings is the bright red Art Gallery tucked in the middle of downtown. Voici le huitième volet d'une modeste présentation de nos 50 jours consécutifs passés à naviguer sur le Lac Champlain en 2019. Nous répétons le même scénario depuis plusieurs années, mais nous n'avions jamais pris le temps de documenter et surtout, de présenter notre expérience. Nous naviguons à 4 (2 adultes, 2 enfants en bas âge) sur un Hunter 30 Cherubini 1980 que nous avons remis à notre goût ces dernières années. Nous tenons habituellement de 8 à 9 jours avec notre réservoir d'eau et le réservoir d'eaux noires. Cette année, nous avons hissé les voiles chaque jour pour lesquels nous avons navigué. Nous avons parcouru une distance totale de 610 miles nautiques sur le fond et consommé 32 litres de diesel en 7 semaines. la plus grande distance parcourue sur le fond fut de 35,2 miles nautiques en près de 7 hrs 30. Il n'y a eu qu'une seule journée entière de pluie... notre vitesse de croisière se situe aux alentours de 5 noeuds. Nous espérons inspirer ceux qui doutent du plaisir que l'on peut avoir à naviguer sur le Lac Champlain avec une jeune famille et partager quelques'uns de nos mouillages et des quelques moments de bonheurs passés sur l'eau. The festive season is upon us, and to get in the mood, we’re presenting a traditional dish. Shuba, or Russian herring salad, is a traditional Slavic dish that has a spot in most Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian and other households over major holidays like Christmas. Colloquially known as “herring under a fur coat”, the layered salad is made with pickled herring that’s then covered by potatoes, onions, carrots, beetroots and eggs, with a final layer of mayonnaise and grated beetroot topping it all off for its characteristic purple hue.
