La deuxième partie de la navigation sera plus musclée, avec des vents de 25 à 27 noeuds, mais je suis prêt ! La vraie difficulté sera l'accostage, avec le vent fort qui frappe la proue du navire. Unser Segelboot Squib, ein Catalac 9M, ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Verkleidung hängt teilweise von der Decke, die Farbe blättert ab, die Elektrik auf dem Stand des vorigen Jahrtausends,..... Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles Andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. 2021 war es dann endlich soweit, mit zwei komplett überholten Motoren und einem neuen Geräteträger starteten wir Anfang Juli Richtung Südfrankreich.Leider hatten wir für die gesamte Reise nur zwei Monate Zeit, deswegen hieß es die meiste Zeit Strecke machen. Doch manchmal nahmen wir uns die Zeit zu verweilen, uns Orte näher anzuschauen. Seitdem lag Squib in der Wiener Kuchelau, und der Refit hatte begonnen. Am 17 August 2025 ist es wieder so weit. Obwohl Squib noch nicht ganz fertig ist, werfen wir die Leinen los und starten unsere erste Etappe donauabwärts. Dreieinhalb Wochen später erreichen wir das Donaudelta, der Mast wird gestellt, ein passendes Wetterfenster abgewartet, in zwei Sclägen überqueren wir das Schwarze Meer bis zum Bosporus. Ohne Einzuklarieren mit gehisster Q Flagge durchqueren wir die Türkei und erreichen 5 Tage später die Ägäis. Über Limnos und die nördlichen Sporaden segeln wir bis in den Großraum Athen, von wo aus Sabina nach Hause fliegt, weil ihr Urlaub zu Ende ist. Dans cette vidéo, on s’attaque à une étape importante de la rénovation du bateau : la remise en place des safrans du catamaran. Après avoir changé les bagues, on doit lever le bateau pour pouvoir réinstaller correctement les safrans. Une opération toujours un peu sportive ! On en profite aussi pour remonter les secteurs de barre et le pilote automatique, après un sablage complet et un traitement anticorrosion pour repartir sur une base saine. Au programme: levage du catamaran, remise en place des safrans, remplacement des bagues, remontage des secteurs de barre, installation du pilote automatique,... Visitei o Museu de Arte Sacra (terceiro maior acervo religioso do Brasil), o Museu Histórico de Sergipe com os canhões da Guerra de Canudos, o convento onde a Irmã Dulce começou a vida religiosa. December 2018 Before we left Florida for our travels at sea, Sparticus, our 15 year old Yorkshire Terrier, took a turn for the worst. In this video, we said goodbye. This was and is still an emotionally difficult video to have created, and edited. We miss him everyday and while we know we did the right thing for him, it is still painful and reminds us we have an empty space in this boat, in this life, without him. For all of you who have had to say goodbye to your best friend, we know your pain. Til the Heavenly Bridge that rejoins us, fair winds my sweet Sparticus, my little Snuffleupagus, Lil Dude, Sweat Pea, Cranky Fart, and all the other stupid yet loving nicknames I gave you. It was in honour of the emperor, that Salona was names Valeria (after his family name). Urban life at Salona ceases by 640 AD with the invasions of the Avars and the Slavs. The urban population retreated behind the sturdy walls of nearby Diocletian's Palace or the offshore islands of the Adriatic.
