Australasian farmers and food suppliers are among thousands of local businesses hit by the ongoing suspension of cruise operations, with losses to the Australian economy now surpassing $5 billion over the past year. The video features national wholesaler Select Fresh Providores, one of Australia’s key suppliers of fresh fruit and vegetables to cruise lines. In it, the company’s Group General Manager Steven Biviano explains the huge effect the suspension has had, not only on his own business but also on farmers and regional communities. In peak season up to 50% of Select Providores' business was generated by cruising, and that farmers and other producers needed time to plan crops for cruising’s return. The health protocols cruise lines have developed in response to COVID-19 are among the most stringent in the world and are already operating successfully in several other countries. Now is the time for the Federal Government and states to finalise a timeline for a carefully managed, phased resumption so businesses like Select Fresh can plan their recovery. #WeAreCruise

A Expedição ANI pelo Brasil partirá de Itajaí (SC) no dia 15 de abril e terá como destino final o arquipélago Fernando de Noronha (PE). O veleiro Gosto D’Água, embarcação utilizada no projeto, passará por 15 cidades e 10 estados da costa brasileira, e só pretende voltar às águas itajaienses após seis meses. A Expedição ANI pelo Brasil irá comemorar os 20 anos de trabalho da ONG itajaiense, que já ensinou mais de 16 mil alunos da rede pública a remar e velejar com o projeto “Navegando Pela Cidadania”. Em cada parada, os velejadores farão palestras abordando a história da ONG, a cultura náutica itajaiense, o desenvolvimento sustentável e a economia azul para o público local. “Queremos que esse projeto leve o nome da ANI e de Itajaí para outros municípios brasileiros que também desenvolvem o mundo náutico. A associação tem 20 anos de história e é um exemplo de práticas educativas e sustentáveis não só para a cidade, mas para o país inteiro.”, afirmou o ex-presidente da Associação Náutica e coordenador da Expedição ANI pelo Brasil, Claudio Copello. Durante as travessias, a equipe irá participar de duas competições importantes do calendário da vela oceânica brasileira. A primeira, Regata Aratu-Maragojipe, e a segunda, Regata Refeno (Recife-Fernando de Noronha). Além disso, o projeto prevê vagas para travessias divididas entre os 15 pontos de paradas. About the Boat ''SY ROYAL ATENEA'' was built in Holland in 1973. Her original name was ''Antares''.She is a Jongert Trewes Design with 5mm Steel Hull and rigged as a Ketch with Aluminium Masts. Her LOA is 19.3m and she has a beam of 4.6m with a draft of 2.98m She weighs 33t and she can cruise at 7 kts with the engine and 8-10 kts on sail depending on the wind. She is fairly comfortable with 15 to 20 kts of wind. Freshwater capacity to last over 2 weeks and a fuel range of 13 days steaming. About the Boat ''SY Red Current'' is a Southerly 31 with the construction of GRP and rigged as a sloop with Aluminium Mast. Her LOA is 31 feet and she has a beam of 10 feet with a draft of 7 feet. She also has an electric swing keel which makes her draft very shallow and easy to enter in shallow water. Пришли на Корсику в городишко Бонифачо - Шикарнейшее, живописное место... Красотища неописуемая !!! Пришли к обеду. Переход из марины Де Орсо (Сардиния) в Бонифачо занял у нас 6 часов. Сразу же на причале отметили это событие !!! После сходили в офис марины и оплатили стоянку на двое суток ... Заплатили 68 евро. Затем совершили экскурсию в старый город с его крепостью .... Бонифачо состоит из двух частей – верхнего и нижнего города. В нижнем городе находится гавань, морской вокзал и набережная, а в верхнем расположены две главные достопримечательности Бонифачо – цитадель и ведущая к ней лестница - ее еще называют Шрамом Бонифачо. Это не что иное как каменные ступеньки высеченные в отвесной скале под углом 45 градусов ведущие с самого верху от крепости к морю Гуляли по старому городу, по его узким улочкам, заглянули в церковь, местные бутики и посидели в кафешке, продегустировали местную кухню, послушали истории с приключениями капитана и выпили французского пива местного разлива.... К вечеру вернулись на лодку... Ужинали на лодке .... На этом закончился наш первый день нашего пребывания в Бонифачо На второй день у каждого было свободное время и каждый провел его по своему усмотрению усмотрению Я более тщательно изучил старый город (тот который в крепости наверху на мысе) побродил по кладбищу старого города Не кладбище а город мертвых. Вместо могил домики где, как бы, живут души усопших We arrived to Corsica ( town of Bonifacio - a gorgeous, picturesque place) ... around noon. Sailing from Marina De Orso (Sardinia) to Bonifacio (Corsica) took us 6 hours. Upon arrival we decided to celebrate this event !!! After that we went to the marina office to pay for docking ( for two days) ... The set back was 68 euros total. Having paid the price we went to see the old town with its fortress .... Bonifacio consists of two parts - the upper and lower areass. In the lower town there is a harbor, a sea port and an embankment, and in the upper part there are two main attractions of Bonifacio - they are the citadel and the stairs leading to the sea - It is also called Scar of Bonifacio..... It's nothing but stone steps carved into a sheer rock at an angle of 45 degrees leading from the very top from the fortress to the sea We walked around the old town, along its narrow streets, visited the church, dropped in local boutiques and spent time in a cafe, tasted local cuisine, listened stories with the adventures of the captain and drank local French beer .... We've added a new air-fryer stove in the galley, and we've cleaned out the bilge and v-berth to boot! Tenaci e costanti, grandi e fini conoscitori della barca, del vento, del navigare, sono riusciti a mettere in fila spagnoli, francesi e tutto il resto della flotta di 55 imbarcazioni. Perché hanno vinto: si dedicano a una classe cult e storica, lo fanno con passione e spirito, portando avanto la grande tradizione dei Vaurien. Hanno compiuto un’impresa sportiva non da poco, contro avversari di qualità e portando a termine una lunga trasferta in un campo di regata lontano.

We are Easy Day Adventures, a family of four taking one adventure at a time. In this video series we are pointing North to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to go swimming up in the Arctic Ocean. Why? Because its there. Plus, it will make a great adventure for our growing boys who are learning how to dream BIG. Why not come along for the ride? Sometimes we live on our sailboat, other time we explore Terra Firma with our OVRLND rig. Either way, its always an adventure! In this video we get some fresh tires in Grand Prairie, Alberta before heading up the Alaska Highway into the Northern Canadian Rockies. Along the way we find an abandoned campground where we setup for the night. We didn’t spend too long because the bugs drove us further North to Muncho Lake. We really enjoyed the campground at Muncho Lake. The water wasn’t too cold for a refreshing cold bath and there are so many amazing trails nearby. We chose to jump on the Stone Sheep’s Trail that heads up into the mountains near the Sentinel Range. This was a great hike to burn off some of the boy’s energy and after we relaxed just a bit further North in the Laird River Hot Springs. It was only $10 CAD for the whole family to spend the afternoon at the hot springs. If you find yourself passing through the Northern Canadian Rockies, this is a must do! We were able to pack so much into that one day that we decided to push a little further up the ALCAN before dinner. We discovered some tucked away camping along the Laird River just West of Watson Lake. After some great rest listening to the water flow past all night, we pointed West to the Alaska border with British Columbia. Thanks for watching!
