Specialized equipment to recover find gold means it gold can’t be recovered that normally would be lost making millions of dollars extra. This equipment has been custom built to recover gold as we travel on our expedition of prospecting throughout the Philippines this is an exciting opportunity to use this equipment. We tested it at Brian’s place and got 95% recovery. The gold was mixed in with black sand which is a product which is normally found with gold and it’s incredibly hard to get out. We also mixed in some toxic Mercury to see if it could be recovered some of the communities have large contaminated mercury areas which we could clean up and also extract the gold. Wind conditions at Eleven Mile Reservoir tend to be variable and very gusty. We often start out with glassy waters and no wind--and then end the day with 20 mph gusts. This day we lucked out and had really nice, consistent wind. We sailed for 4 hours, covered 8.4 miles and had a top speed of 5.3 mph (4.6 knots). Hope you enjoy the video!

In this video, we leave our sandy anchorage off Raiatea and head to Tahaa for a "picnic" with our new French Polynesian family. After a cool meal with fresh catch cooked on a coconut husk grill, as well as a tasty octopus dish, we walk around the motu (island). This motu is primarily a coconut plantation but has many other treasures, including a creepy skull/jaw bone, starfruit trees, and more. A couple of days later we return to the motu and spend two days learning (and helping) do the "copra" harvest. On the first day we help tear apart the coconuts that were split by Jerome with his axe. It took five of us to keep up with how fast he was splitting them! On the second day we returned and carved out the coconut "meat" from inside the shells, collected it all and moved it to an elevated drying table. Now that the copra is drying, we headed out on Amanecer around the west side of Taha'a and found a nice anchorage with a view of Bora Bora and a short dinghy ride in to Tapu'amu, where we explore a rum distillery that features a rum distilled entirely with sugar cane (not the more common molasses base). Twenty-one RS Aeros travelled to Soldiers Point for the Sail Port Stephens ‘Off The Beach’ series, run by the Bay Sailing Centre. Two on-water training sessions were held on Friday by former RS Aero World Champion Rhett Gowans. The fleet enjoyed an excellent day’s racing on Saturday in bright sunshine and cool westerlies, varying in strength from 8-12 knots, occasionally gusting to 15 knots. With a forecast of 25+ knots for Sunday, the Race Committee wisely decided to run an extra (fourth) race on Saturday on the off chance that racing might be cancelled the following day. No complaints from the sailors who returned to the beach happy with some great racing. Sure enough, Sunday delivered on its forecast with gusts powering across the bay at up to 30 knots by late morning. The Committee kept options open with the fleet kept ashore until 11.30am when the hooter finally signalled that racing was cancelled for the day. From the four races on Saturday the event winner was Gary Ratcliffe’s Rat Race from Rhett Gowans’ Rhett’s Rig and Cameron Shaw’s Single Malt. The George’s River Sailing Club held 6 of the top 10 positions, with Richard Shaw being the best of the Balmoral Sailing Club fleet. Props to the Bay Sailing Centre (run by Newcastle Yacht Club) for some great courses, on-time starts and friendly race organisation.
