Το 1982 ξαναπερνάει τον Ωκεανό φέρνοντας πίσω το σκάφος και διδάσκει ιστιοπλοΐα. Το 1986 του ανατίθεται η έρευνα και κατασκευή της αρματωσιάς του αντιγράφου του αρχαίου πλοίου Κυρήνεια ΙΙ καθώς και η διακυβέρνησή του από τον Πειραιά στην Πάφο. To 1992 με το Ελληνικής σχεδίασης και κατασκευής σκάφος 'Μακεδονία' κερδίζει την 3η θέση στην κατηγορία σκαφών Ι.Μ.S. του Υπερατλαντικού αγώνα για τα 500 χρόνια της ανακάλυψης της Αμερικής. Την άλλη χρονιά βρίσκει ένα κατάλληλο σκάφος και ελπίζοντας σε κρατική χορηγία ετοιμάζεται για την πρώτη συμμετοχή της Ελλάδας στον αγώνα της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης, που δυστυχώς δεν πραγματοποιήθηκε. Συνεχίζει να διδάσκει ιστιοπλοΐα και από το 1999 αφιερώνεται στην ιστορική έρευνα για τα αρχαία ταξίδια και τον πολιτισμό κινηματογραφώντας τα για μία σειρά ντοκιμαντέρ. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is not to go to a specific place but to reach a state of mind where we can really enjoy life. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boats and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders in 2017. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 4 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea. During season 2 We sailded south to Dieppe Normandy France. After a winter in France in Season 3 we started to sail the Atlantic coast of Europe to Xufre in Spain where we lifted the boat over the summer while we where back in Gotland to work at our hostel we got there. Season 4 got a short sailing season where we only sailed to Lagos on the Algarve coast of Portugal where we hauled out once again this time to go throug a long list of boatwork and to build a solar arch to make the boat more self-suficient with electricity. After 6 months in Lagos we kicked-off season 5 with real bluewater sailing first to the northerly Atlantic island Porto Santo and Madeira and then further out to the Azores that lays in the middle of the Atlantic ocean before turning back towards the mainland and south coast of Portugal again.

Getting on hands and knees, climbing the pole, poetry, CQR anchor, fish chasing dolphin, and dancing. It’s time for sprucing up Isabella. All hands on deck as Karen gets on her hands and knees to wash the deck clean. The wind generator pole is made of 316 stainless steel and still managed to attract a bit of rust. Rubbing and polishing the pole reminded us of the poem, Sail Away With Me by Laney Mills and we share a few stanzas with y’all. Steve climbs the pole to reach the last hard spots as Karen enjoys watching from behind. Isabella has two anchors, a 121 pound Rocna and a 66 pound CQR. We use the Rocna as the main anchor. The CQR has a few rusty spots. Rather than re-galvanizing it, Steve treated the rust, getting it ready to be painted. A surprise appearance of a dolphin was seen chasing a fish. The Ocean Race Europe’s relentless schedule continues, and while it was a party atmosphere in Nice, for the sailors and shore crews there was hardly any down time between the finish of Leg 3 and the start of Leg 4 on Sunday. The yachts were beautifully lined up along the harbour front for the passers-by and hats off to the logistics team for getting the event village set up so quickly at each of the stopovers. They’ll all now be hot footing it to Genova, Italy for the Leg 4 finish on Wednesday. The previous leg was described as brutal, exhausting, and the most intensive yet, but it’s unlikely this one is being any easier as the sweltering heat continues. A loop around Corsica, through the gap between the island and Sardinia, back up north along the Tuscan coast, and then around a couple of marks to finish on Wednesday 3rd September. Big progress in the Alaskan Gypsy shipyard restoration — the bow thruster, after much debate, is finally gone! and welding shut, gone for good. Or, until next haul out at least! This old jet-style hydraulic setup never really worked for much we are told, but it left four holes in the bow and a big repair project behind. In this episode, I cut out the last of the system and through repeated acts of contortionist weld plate over the openings. Nous espérons que ce projet puisse apporter quelque chose de positif à la suite de cet événement tragique. La Baleine Blanche ne pourra pas suivre la flottille qui quittera le Guatemala en décembre vers la Jamaique car nous sommes encore en préparation. For us, this wasn't just another holiday... it was a family reunion we'd been waiting for all year. Every school holiday, Timo's daughters travel from Italy to spend time with us aboard our sailing boat. This visit was especially meaningful because Nonno and Nonna gave us the greatest gift they could—flights for the girls so we could all be together. They joined the trip too, finally getting to experience the boat they had helped us rebuild. During our two-year refit in Fiji, they gave countless hours of support, using their skills as architects and graphic designers to help transform our former racing yacht into our family home. But until now, they'd never actually sailed aboard her. This trip was full of unforgettable moments. It was the first time they met baby Tao, the holiday where Nemo suddenly started speaking fluent Italian with his grandparents and sisters, and a chance to spend precious time together exploring the stunning islands of Thailand. From freediving through underwater caves and discovering hidden lagoons to sharing meals, laughter and family traditions, this was a reminder that no matter how unusual our lifestyle is, family will always find a way to be together.
