The final test hit us like a bulldozer. We have come over 1,000 miles and now have just 80 to go. There's no easy way across. We have no choice but to sail through the night. That's when it happened, 35 Miles from the Dominican Republic.

Admittedly, I thought we were cutting out the large windows along the sides of the hull, and I was SUPER excited about it, but it turns out that we're just taking off the flanges the run around the interior of our cabin sides. They were originally added at the factory to protect the sill during travel and the build, but now we're ready for them to come off. This is so we'll be able to blend the fairing from our tape lines up, and get the entire surface ready for primer. But once they start to come off, MAN does it make a huge difference to our view. The space feels like it's opened up by 20%!! We also hop on our friend Francis' charter boat, Pal-o-mine, to partake in Kentmorr's yearly Blessing of the Fleet. A local pastor comes out to give each captain and crew a blessing for a bountiful season on the water, and then we pass under a spray of water put out by the local fire boats. Not much else to say except things are rapidly coming along now and there's going to be so many exciting changes coming over the next few months! We hope you enjoy!!

Because of supply issues, we had to switch our high build primer...and our results were not what we were hoping for. After months and months of fairing, we have some very exciting footage to bring you, and that is because we are on to our next section of priming!! Although we have most of the guest hull faired (with the exception of the aft berth) we were waiting until we could do one large spray before moving onto the next step. That and....we couldn't refill our order of high build primer. Unfortunately for us, TotalBoat is not currently producing their high build primer, and after months of waiting for it to get stocked again, we finally had to switch over to Awl Grip. We're using this in virgin priming areas, such as the guest hull. Starting in the v-berth, we wanted to see how it would work out for us. Coming out of the mixer thinner, we were excited, but it just didn't seem to be spraying on well. An issue with the primer, or our gun? It was later determined our gun was not spraying well, but when it came time to sand we found out that TotalBoat wins hands down. In this episode we begin to put the three pieces of our cabin top on the boat, in hopes of getting it bonded together and to the cabin sides before the cold sets in. But, these pieces are very large and heavy. With the help of our friend (and yard manager) Tucker, and his dad's backhoe, we manage to lift both port and starboard sides easily into place. The 350 pound center piece though? That took a lot more effort and completely wiped us out for the day. But, all three pieces managed to get 'on' the boat (in a matter of speaking) and we've totally transformed the look! We hope you enjoy! Much love from Annapolis!
