It was something of an overnight sprint for the Supermaxis in the Audi Centre BWPS Cabbage Tree Island Race, which started at 7pm last night on Sydney Harbour. Andoo Comanche took Line Honours crossing the finish line off Watsons Bay this morning at 7.19am, followed by Law Connect, with Black Jack and Hamilton Island Wild Oats XI battling tack-for-tack into the harbour and up to the finish line; Black Jack eventually winning that battle.

So in this video we're turnign our attention to Mochyn Du, my Mirror dinghy. As you know she came off the trailer and needs a few things rep[airing so we get to sanding everything back so we can assess the job. To be honest I think she's in brilliant condition and she's going to be back sailing very soon! We also get given an old trolley which has been a godsend keeping her safe and sound on the shore. It's a bit heavy, but it's brilliant and foits Mochyn Du really well. We just need to get it fitted to the trailer in some way and we wont need to buy or make a new one which will be great. Before we go home we have a quick check on Lulu to find the fibreglassing has already cured really well. The weather today has been gorgeous and very good temperatures for epoxy so Neptune is smiling on us today!!! Sailing around the world in a Bavaria 55 Cruiser, mostly solo, making videos whenever we have time for it. Comfortable at sea with 4 decades of sailing experience and hundreds of thousands of miles behind me. Even though this is season 8 on YouTube, I did not make that many videos in the beginning, and obviously not from my entire sailing life. Before full-time sailing 7 years ago, I sailed several seasons in the Mediterranean, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and have been sailing and racing ever since. I also have more than 10 years of experience as a captain in search and rescue at sea in Norway.

A trip taken in vain. We went to Dallas for a special event except while in flight the event was canceled. Landed and immediately rearranged our return flight for the next day. At least we had time to drive by a few of our old dancing clubs in Deep Ellum and enjoy some great jambalaya at the Free Man Cajun Cafe & Lounge. Brought back some great memories. Our first episode, Refitting a Catalina 42 sailboat, dancing and messing around Ep 1, was videoed at a few of those clubs. Steve’s been soaking the bolts on Isabella’s engine riser’s flange for several weeks. He was able to remove them and take off the flange. Next step, remove the protective insulation on the riser to expose the metal portion and have a welder weld the flange onto the riser. We’re making progress on fixing the exhaust leak, yea! More to come on that...but that’s another episode. It had been a while since the Vitrifrigo refrigerator had been defrosted, so that was next on our to do list. The ice had built up quite a bit and it was definitely time to melt that away. Once defrosted, it was time to celebrate aka dance time.
