Checking out the large pelagic fish east of Flores requires some strong kicking with your dive fins to find the sweet spot in between the currents. It’s almost meditational to hang with the large school of dogtooth tuna, literally eye-to-eye with these most powerful bullet-shaped fish in the ocean, hanging almost motionless and filming them with my little cheap Sony action camera. Rain of Old Testament magnitude descended on Spain's Costa del Sol for day two of the RC44 Sotogrande Cup. While the wind was not excessive, the sea state decidedly was. Even as RC44 crews and race management surfaced for their breakfast this morning, it was evident that the onshore easterly breeze, that had been blowing all night, had caused the sea state to build to the extent that waves were already breaking over the harbour wall. RC44 Principal Race Officer Peter 'Luigi' Reggio managed to venture out of the harbour this morning to assess the washing machine-like situation: "The wind isn't the issue, it's the waves," he explained. "The sea state is so bad that some really serious damage will happen if we send them out. They have to go upwind against those waves just to put up their mainsails and it's really impossible. Also, it is low tide and the waves are so big that we're afraid in the troughs the boats might hit the bottom. And it is just going to get worse - the waves are forecast to build this afternoon so then getting the boats in will be even more impossible than it was getting them out." And so, to applause and unanimous relief from the crews, Reggio announced the cancellation of racing for the day at the morning skippers' briefing. The RC44 Sotogrande Cup is the first event of the 2017 RC44 Championship Tour, which pits the world's top businessmen and the best sailors in the industry compete in high-performance one-design 44-foot carbon racing yachts. For the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race in 2021 she’s opting for the opposite end of the spectrum, joining Campbell Geeves in the Two-Handed Division aboard the Beneteau 34.7 Speedwell. Inför sjösättningen. Plastade utsidan av hålet efter drevet. Glömde att filma själva plastningen. Kanske för att det är bökigt att hantera polyesterplast och glasfiber samtidigt som mobiltelefonen. Blir lätt kladdigt. Målade linjerna men gjorde ett uselt underarbete och köpte en billig pensel.

De nombreux parents ne parlent pas bien le français et l'établissement fait partie du réseau d'éducation prioritaire renforcé. Certains enfants n'ont jamais vu la mer, et c'est une joie de leur faire découvrir la beauté des océans devant leurs yeux émerveillés :-) Un immense merci à Justine, David et au directeur de l'école Angela Davis pour leur accueil. During the fourth and final day of sailing at our best-loved event, the fleet headed off north towards Monaci. Ammonite and Sorceress fit another skirmish into their event-long sailing challenge. This time even the local dolphins checked in on the action, swimming with Ammonite and bringing her the luck to capture line honours for the day. Sorceress and Ammonite were awarded ex aequo for the excellent show of sportsmanship and pure sailing enjoyment that they have given us all here in Porto Cervo and in the racing fleet Morgana won for the best performing Southern Wind yachts and third prize in the Superyacht Cruising Division.
