We sail from Taveuni Island to Savusavu to provision - where we take a look at some of the yacht damages caused by cyclone Winston. We sail around the coast of Vanua Levu, anchoring in several bays not marked as anchorages on our charts.

We take a trip to Ojai, California with the flower covered hills looking like a scene from the Wizard of Oz. Hike the Pratt Trail in the Los Padres National Forest -- surrounded by brilliantly colored flowers everywhere. Of course the campsite food is over the top: Soy Chorizo with tortillas for breakfast, Tilapia with capers for dinner and some good old fashioned Jiffy Pop Popcorn by the camp fire!

Nous vous souhaitons une joyeuse fête. - Claude et Michèle : Notre OVNI 43 nous a conduit très loin, avec toujours le même plaisir de naviguer - Isabelle et Michel R. : Hélas, nous ne pourrons honorer votre invitation pour cette sympathique journée du 12 mai, et vous en remercions. Depuis 1980 je n’ai cessé d’être propriétaire et de naviguer, sans interruption, sur des bateaux de votre chantier, un 28 d’occasion pendant une dizaine d’années puis un 32 neuf, puis un 36 neuf également et en ce moment un 395 d’occasion de 2008, acheté il y a 9 ans, à bord duquel nous sommes partis en Méditerranée, navigant 6 mois par an, de Pâques à la Toussaint, ce qui nous empêchera d’être présents parmi vous en mai. Actuellement au sec sur l’ile de Leros, en Grèce, notre OVNI sera remis à l’eau le 18 avril, destination les petites Cyclades et puis la Turquie. Nous ferons une pause en août cette année et pourrions être aux Sables avec bonheur… Belle célébration ! - Pierre M. : nous sommes actuellement aux Antilles et nous ne serons pas de retour pour le 12 mai, même si toute la famille aurait vraiment voulu être là ! Surtout après le bon souvenir de notre passage au chantier au début de la rénovation de notre Ovni 35 à l'été 2021 (où nous étions passé le jour où tout le monde partait en vacances :-) Aujourd'hui, l'aventure bat son plein, après une transat en solo réussie en 15 jours. On regrette vraiment de ne pas pouvoir être présent à cet "anniversaire". Bonjour à tous Nous avons quitté la Corse, la France.... On continue notre voyage . Quel bonheur que d'être libre de notre temps et de voyager afin de découvrir des nouveaux pays, des coutumes différentes, des nouvelles personnes sur l'eau ou à terre. On se dirige vers Capraia puis l'île d'Elbe. De beaux mouillages, et encore de belles rencontres. Nous n'avons pas eu que du beau temps, mais c'est toujours aussi riche en découvertes. Returning from a surveillance mission, the French Navy flew over the Sodebo Ultim 3 in the Bay of Biscay and communicated via VHF radio with Frédéric Denis. A wonderful moment for the seven crew members who are expected to cross the finish line tomorrow morning, around 7:00 AM. Then this afternoon, Thomas Coville shared his final thoughts before heading to the finish line off Ushant. He reflected on the last 24 hours, particularly intense, spent in the heart of Storm Ingrid. The seven sailors faced truly hellish conditions: gusts exceeding 55 knots and waves of 8 to 10 meters. The crew is expected to cross the finish line tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM, according to the latest estimates.

Sebastien Marsset climb the mast for technical maintenance. To undertake the crewed around-the-world record is as much about the human adventure as it is a technical and sporting challenge. The men and women working alongside Dona Bertarelli and Yann Guichard at Spindrift racing have been preparing this race against the clock for almost three years. The target: to sail around the world in less than 45 days, 13 hours and 42 minutes. The tough record they will try to beat was set by Loïck Peyron and his crew in 2012 on Banque Populaire V, which was renamed Spindrift 2 a year later. The French-Swiss team decided to use the same 40 m trimaran because they believed that the boat could be further optimised, a task that sailors, engineers and technicians at the team have been working on ever since. After countless hours of work at the boatyard and 40,000 nautical miles of racing and training, the Spindrift racing-prepared trimaran is all set to go. The team will officially go on stand-by on October 19th and wait for the ideal weather window.
