Circumnavigating the DMVA peninsula is a 450-mile cruise that many intermediate sailors consider as a rite of passage before turning perpendicular to the coastline to do a serious blue water cruise. This cruise includes a variety of challenges for the aspiring cruising sailor including nighttime transits in the restricted waters of Chesapeake Bay and open waters of the Atlantic Ocean while contending with navigation, watch keeping, ship traffic, fishing vessels, shoaling, crab pots, a variety of weather conditions including sun, rain, strong winds and no wind, plus squalls and lightning, and much more. We've been quiet for quite some time, especially in the video genre...one year to be exact. But I recently got my hands dirty again and my brain back in media mode. :) We left landlife on Moorea just over one year ago kind of abruptly and unexpectedly as my father had a massive stroke and he was the main caretaker of my mom who has dementia. Ryan and I are now their main caretakers. I strongly felt this was/is my duty as a daughter to come back and take care of them and I'm thankful Ryan is taking on this challenge with me. And it's been and still is a challenge in every way you can think of. We don't let my parents sit idle, waiting to die...not even one day. The passage across the Indian Ocean is when Idec Sport enjoyed a near-perfect run, and Sodebo could do nothing as they watched their lead reduced to under 200 nautical miles at times as they gybed to find the best winds, knowing that Joyon and his team back in 2016/17 covered the entire ocean on one gybe at incredible speed. Sodebo has though held the lead and set a new record to Cape Leeuwin of 17 days, 1 hour, and 17 minutes, over 5 and a half hours quicker than Idec’s time.

E16: It's been a hot and rainy week in Phuket Thailand this week. Honestly we have been slacking on boatwork this week. We really need to crank out some work in the next 30 days. We talk more about some of our plans on ideas on how to maximize our charity work with our 100% of YouTube revenues pledge. We have some good ideas but honestly hearing from you guys would give us even more ideas. I love watching boats being moved around in the boat yard. They moved around the biggest they can handle here. A 17m aluminum catamaran. Our Matahom looked pretty big in the boatyard until the big black cat shows up.
