We head into the @royalyachtclubofvictoria4881 Royal Yacht Club of Victoria and head off to explore Melbourne by car. We visit Geelong & Queenscliff to the west, and Arthurs Seat, Fort Nepean and the old Quarantine Station to the east. After a quick sail around Port Phillip Bay, we head back in under the West Gate Bridge staying at Docklands Marina in the heart of Melbourne to celebrate Christmas and sit right under the spectacular New Year’s Fireworks show. WHO ARE WE? We’re Chris and Jo and we have been living on our Seawind 1260 since January 2019. In our first year we bring our yacht down the east coast of Australia and sail it out to New Caledonia. After cruising further north up the east coast of Australia in 2020, we decide to circumnavigate Australia during 2021 and 2022. We had previously owned fishing and water skiing boats, but after a couple years crewing in South Australia we decided to jump right in and make a sea change. Είχε ένα FINN που πριν βγει στην θάλασσα έβαζε τους Οπτιμίστες να μασάνε τσίχλες για να βουλώσει το άνοιγμα (κρακ) που είχε στην πλώρη, για να μη μπαίνουν νερά. Με το σκάφος αυτό κατόρθωσε να πρωταγωνιστήσει σε πολλούς διασυλλογικούς αγώνες. Με κατόρθωμα να πάρει και τρίτη θέση σε Πανελλήνιο Πρωτάθλημα μπαίνοντας έτσι στην Εθνική ομάδα. Τότε δεν υπήρχαν LASER, έτσι υπήρχε μεγάλη συμμέτοχη στους αγώνες με σκάφη Φινν, πάνω από 40 σκάφη. Αργότερα του έδωσε η Ε.Ι.Ο. ένα καινούργιο FINN τύπου Vanguard (vang·gaad ) όπου συμμετείχε σε αγώνες φέρνοντας διακρίσεις σε αγώνες του εσωτερικού όσο και διεθνείς. 🔧 Démontage des chandeliers et d’un bas-hauban : stop aux infiltrations ! 💦 L’eau s’infiltrait par les vis de l’accastillage côté bâbord… il fallait agir ! On a donc démonté deux chandeliers et le bas-hauban pour tout remettre au propre et refaire l’étanchéité. 🤝 Encore une fois, merci à Laurent d’être venu m’aider, parce que c’est toujours plus facile à deux ! Angus is one of four generations of "S" sailors, the main points that was his goal were to preserve classic "S" boats, to engage the next generation in sailing classics, enable a modern, ambitious race program for everyone who would be interested, also support the craft, and win races. PAPOOSE was donated to Herreshoff Marine Museum along with SQUAW to restore the Classic S boats look and performance.
