Join me, Ryan the Rogue Rigger on my journey of restoring a Mach 2 International Moth that I just picked up. I plan on upgrading it with all the modern systems with out breaking the bank and then I will take you along for the steep learning curve of learning to sail this Tasmanian devil of a boat. I have dreamed of owning one of these since they first came out back in 2008 when I got to take one for a spin. It was an unreal experience/feeling that I have been chasing ever since. At the time they were crazy expensive to buy and not in my budget. These days they are still crazy expensive to buy new, now there are a lot of older moths on the second hand market that are relatively affordable (Less than a Laser/ILCA in this case). For those of you who don't know, an International Moth is a single handed 11 foot long hydro foiling sailboat. These boats literally fly over the water on two hydrofoils doing speeds 2-3 times the speed of the wind. In this episode I build a "Molly," a Moth Dolly. After my first sail I discovered that I needed a better way to launch my moth. After building the Molly I wanted to go sailing again and finally get some foiling in. Unfortunately Mother Nature has decided its not Moth sailing season yet. Its been pouring rain for the past couple weeks and not ideal conditions for learning to foil. Not to worry, I sail on San Francisco Bay and summer is coming, so plenty of windy foiling days to come! I did want to show some sailing in this video, so here are few highlights from racing on the Farr 400 last weekend in the pouring rain. As well I through in some footage from our 505 tuning session a couple weekends ago. Enjoy!

After months exploring Malaysia, it's finally time to move on. In this episode we say goodbye to Langkawi, spend a few final days with the incredible cruising community at Rebak, enjoy beach parties, live music and a barbecue in a cave, before clearing out of Malaysia and setting sail for Thailand. The crossing to Phuket marks the beginning of a brand new chapter in our journey aboard NV. Along the way we navigate busy fishing grounds, deal with another small issue aboard, and reflect on everything Malaysia has given us over the past few months. But what makes this arrival especially exciting is what comes next. Very soon, family will be joining us aboard. For the first time, Nonno and Nonna will get to experience NV sailing and cruising rather than sitting in a boatyard mid-refit. And thanks to a very special gift from them, Nami and Tea will soon be returning to the adventure too. After months of exploring on our own, we can't wait to share the next chapter with the people we love most. LTCC stands for “Look Think Connect Create”. The whole process starts with the continuous task to research our customer’s market environment, the relevant stakeholders, the customer behavior, news trends and much more. This phase of the process is called “Look”. “Think” stands for the part when we transform our consolidated knowledge and insight into conclusions that help our customers face a specific challenge. For the next step, “Connect”, we need to bring in lots of experts. Based on the requirements, we bring together our own professionals, our customer’s experts and external specialists with which we collaborate. Together, we develop customized service concepts for our customers. To bring those concepts to life is the core of the “Create” phase. At the end of this part, our customers and their passengers can actually experience and test the new concepts on board.

We head into Port Moselle marina to fix a few things before we head off down the coast of New Caledonia. We first stop in Ile Uere where we celebrate Chris' 50th Birthday before we head to Baie Ue to check out a waterfall and experience how much the surrounding red soils stain everything. We then head to Prony Bay and stop at Isle Casey where we celebrate Roberts birthday.

We finally started prepping the interior for paint! Shaun cut down hardware and power sanded them down. We got the girls together and tackled some sanding. Shaun pulled out the water tank and Brittany gave it a good scrubbing to hopefully rid the horrendous sulfur smell. We tested out our new chairs from West Marine and Brittany was surprised by what it takes to fix our rigging issues. We also enjoyed the Packers game on the only thing that actually works on the boat....our giant flat screen! We had some major girl power helping us out! This is the inspirational story of Amanda and Darren who decided to, give up great jobs and sell up and go sailing while in their early thirties. Whats amazing is they did not grow up around boats, they new nothing about sailing and they had not even stepped aboard a sail boat until they took their Amel Sharki "SV Panda" for a test sail. We catch-up with Amanda and Darren in Puerto Rico about the lead up to their decision to go sailing, the boat preparation required, the costs involved, their annual sailing budget and what its been like to adapt to living on a 40 foot boat on a big ocean!
