► Le succès des rassemblements Propriétaires de catamarans Fontaine Pajot ne se dément pas : pour la 11ème édition, pas moins de 22 multicoques à voile (de l’Isla 40 au Samana 59) et deux powercats ont répondu présents pour un programme convivial au départ de Punta Ala, en Toscane (Italie). Le moment fort de cet événement a été la « régate » vers l’île d’Elbe : cette belle virée avec une belle brise de 15 nœuds de vent et mer plate a conduit la flotte à Porto Azzuro en moins de trois heures. L’équipage de l’Isla 40 Terre, mené par Richard et Dorothée, n’a rien lâché jusqu’à se faire coiffer sur la ligne par l’Astréa 42 Migaloo 2, la faute aux dévents fantasques provoqués par le relief au fond de la baie. La bouée d’arrivée, de fait, n’était pas si facile à rejoindre sous voile, motivant certains participants à terminer le parcours au moteur. Le troisième catamaran à franchir la ligne était l’Astréa 42 du team Fountaine Pajot – une place honorable compte tenu que ce multicoque de location ne disposait pas de gennaker ni spi. Pour le retour, les voiles de portant ont de nouveau été établies à la faveur du vent qui a pris de la gauche. Cette fois, c’est Maona, un Tanna 47 qui a d’abord pris le contrôle, tiré par son gennaker rouge et blanc. A mi-parcours, Lillesol, un Elba 45 boosté par son grand spi asymétrique tout bleu a bien tenté de reprendre l’avantage, mais rien n’y a fait. Terre, malgré son gabarit réduit, a une nouvelle fois démontré l’intérêt de disposer d’une carène toute propre… et d’hélices repliables en grimpant sur la troisième marche du podium. A terre se sont enchaînées agapes et dégustations de produits locaux. In this episode, we sail into the world-famous town of Saint-Tropez to finally see what all the fuss is about. Montera en Ejektor däckventil på en IF Segelbåt. Vad händer om man monterar ett loppisfynd, på en över 50 år gammal segelbåt? Kort och gott, min däcksventil måste bytas, och det omgående. Problemet är att många av de ”moderna varianterna” med solceller och fläktar, kräver antingen djupare montering eller större diameter på monteringshål. I vissa fall både och. Det sista jag vill är att såga upp ett större hål i rufftaket. Som av en slump snubblade jag över en ny Ejektor däckventil av samma sort som redan sitter monterad på min IF-båt. Dessutom en sprillans ny till det fina priset 50kr. Loppis och återbruk gillar jag starkt. Nu sitter den på plats och jag konstaterar glatt att; Små snabba projekt tar oss också närmare sjösättning …

The event has remained on a human scale – the availability of the builders, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with easy access thanks to a footbridge joining the show area with the eastern part of the port, and there’s plenty of parking space. At the outset, the idea of the organizers of the “Salon International du Multicoque”, which became the International Multihull Show a little over three years ago, was to alternate between the French Atlantic coast - where the world's two largest boat builders, Lagoon and Fountaine Pajot, are based - and the Mediterranean coast, where there is also a concentration of shipyards including Catana/Bali and Outremer/Gunboat. In the end, by attracting a clientele that has become truly international, the South of France has won out for good. So it's in La Grande-Motte, only six miles from Montpellier airport, that everything is happening. The chances of enjoying five dry and sunny days in late April are better on the Languedoc shores, compared to the Brittany weather – and all the better, because the 15,000 visitors expected to attend are spending most of their time outside. Make no mistake, the IMS is an outdoor show, with multihulls afloat!
