Winter Comes to Wrangell | Life in the Shipyard + Big Progress on the Alaskan Gypsy
Winter is closing in on Wrangell, Alaska — but progress on our 66ft Thomas Colvin schooner, The Alaskan Gypsy, keeps moving forward. After a few weeks away in Hawaii, Audrey returns to the shipyard to find major changes: – double-walled heated tent built for fairing and epoxy work – the first coats going on the hull – new insulation, heaters, and progress inside and out – reflections on community, craftsmanship, and life in a small Alaskan shipyard Scott’s pushing hard to get the boat ready to launch — maybe just a few weeks left? What do you think — will we make it before winter really sets in? 📍 Filmed in Wrangell, Alaska ⛵️ 66ft Thomas Colvin Schooner – The Alaskan Gypsy 🎥 By Audrey & Scott – Alaskan Gypsy Life 🌊 Subscribe to follow our refit journey, wilderness life, and Alaska adventures. 👉 [ @AlaskanGypsyLife ] Chapters: 00:00 Intro – Back in Wrangell 00:40 Shipyard progress update 02:30 Inside the double-walled tent 04:00 Fairing and epoxy work 06:00 Weather shifts & winter coming 08:00 Wrangell community & kindness 10:30 Reflections on boat life vs shipyard life 12:30 How long will we be here? 13:10 Closing thoughts & gratitude
