Hi everyone and welcome to our channel. Still in France, and in this episode we are taking you to the Mountain in The Alps, one of the biggest mountain range in Europe. Alps stretch over several countries as Germany, Italy and Switzerland and his highest peak is located in France (15780ft). We will show you some nice view in this episode during some trekking and biking day. As you know now, one of our job during this sailing trip over the world is to organise some music live event and we have been working for two weeks in a nice Resort called “ClubMed” …. The transformation begins! After months of mental anguish (see our earlier vides ;-), welding, and prep work, I finally suit up and sandblast the hull of our 80-foot steel schooner Alaskan Gypsy. As a first timer, I did the job in 8hrs because the sandblast pot was apparently clogged unbeknownst to me . . Anyhow- This is the day it all changes - from rust and corrosion to clean white metal and the first coat of zinc primer. Ignorance is bliss and I was on cloud 9 breathing paint fumes with my dad late into the night. Treated myself to a visit of the Interboot in Friedrichshafen in late 2017. Met this nice family selling the New Zealand Takacats in Germany and Europe (www.takacat.de). They took me out on the lake for a spin in one of their boats I don't know the exact model, but the one in the video belongs to the "Sport" series. Takacats differ from other small inflatable craft in that they are "cats", catamarans. Being cats they don't have this shallow-V hull form, but instead two cylindrical tubes and a "deck" in the middle. This provides a lot of stability, speed potential and a smoother ride on the water. All in all, a lot of cool ideas are implemented in the boats. They can be open at the bow for easy access from the water (LX series) and/or at the back ("open transom") for safety reasons (a wave from behind wouldn't stay in the boat) (LX and Sport series). Having fought with tiny uncomfortable dinghies during several sailing trips, the Takacat was a welcome change of pace. I liked it a lot. I'm not affiliated with Takacat in any way. Herbstliches Absegeln...auf dem Seeteufel, einer Jeanneau Symphonie ...zu fünft an Bord. Nach dem Frühstück und der Dusche legten wir bei Nebel und grauem Himmel in Sønderborg ab und nahmen Kurs auf Marstal. Nach kurzer Zeit klarte der Himmel auf und wir hatten vollen Sonnenschein ❤️ Der Wind war konstant, aber schwach. Die See war ruhig. So blieb Zeit um sich zu entspannen, auszuruhen, nachzudenken, zu träumen... Zwischendurch übten wir das MoB (Man over Bord) Manöver, kochten Milchkaffee und Nudelsuppe, kletterten zum Spaß in den Mast oder putzten unter Deck. Abends tauchten wir spontan in ein kleines Impro-Theater ein und kamen kaum aus dem Lachen heraus... Gegen 1Uhr in der Nacht legte noch Timo mit seinem neuen Wohnschiff an. Es war für ihn die erste Fahrt mit der Christine und er war dementsprechend angespannt. Robert und Jan gingen an der Hafeneinfahrt an Bord, wir Mädels nahmen die Leinen vom Steg aus an. Hat alles gut geklappt. Anschließend gab es einen Sekt.

In today's video we set sail from Big Galliot through the cut to Rat Cay. It was rough! But, once in the ocean, we were good to go. We had no issue going through Rat Cay Cut, a favorite cut given its orientation. It's usually quite safe and easy. Rat Cay is one of our favorite anchorages. We love it because typically we are the only boat and there is a beautiful beach. This time, it was even more special. We came upon an octopus living under our boat in a glass jar. We had so much fun visiting with him a few times a day. Another positive about Rat Cay is that it's an easy pick up of friends and family from the Georgetown Airport. We prefer it to the 15NM one way sail to Georgetown. Our FIRST family member, Brown's daughter, Marston, came to visit us on the boat! It was so much fun having her and our first stop was Pipe Creek, one of the most beautiful places in the Exumas. Welcome to the 2022 Resolute Cup, held September 12 - 17 at the New York Yacht Club - Harbor Court in Newport, R.I. The 23 teams competing in the 2022 Resolute Cup arrived on Monday, September 12, for on-site registration and mandatory practice on Tuesday, September 13. Racing is scheduled to run Wednesday, September 14, through Saturday, September 17, starting each day at 1030. Teams will compete in a qualifying series during the first two days of racing. For the qualifying series, the fleet will be broken into two groups and each group will sail roughly half of its races in the RS21 and half in the Sonar. Teams will be randomly assigned to a boat, and follow a rotation schedule throughout racing each day. There will be no bye races. After the qualifying series is complete, the top six from each fleet will move on to compete in the Gold Series Finals in RS21s. The remaining teams will compete in the Silver Series Finals in Sonars. Finals will begin on Friday, September 16, and all teams will start with a zeroed-out scoreline.
