Les concepteurs de cette plate-forme développée sur le bassin d’Arcachon ont opté pour une configuration catamaran afin d’offrir une surface de pont 45 % supérieure à celle d’un monocoque. Pour autant, la largeur est conforme à celle d’un monocoque « moderne » – maître-bau de 2,95 m pour 8,33 m de coque. Le but est bien sûr d’emprunter les mêmes places de port. Le constructeur a mis au point une motorisation hybride originale : un moteur diesel central de 265 CV et deux moteurs électriques de 8 kW chacun, avec hélices en tuyère. A 4 nœuds, l’autonomie en mode électrique est de deux heures. En mode thermique, il est possible de mettre en route les moteurs électriques, mais cette fois en mode alternateurs. Le plan de pont équipé d’une plate-forme basculante a été optimisé pour faciliter la mise en route, le confort et la facilité de rangement. Le bain de soleil se relève pour former une mini-cabine pour deux, façon Combi VW. Well, we had to slog on down the Intracoastal Waterway with more motorsailing, more grey skies, and more bridges but we made it to the beautiful seaside town of Carolina Beach. And, the beach there was beautiful! It was just the change of scenery we needed for a nice reset. Then it was down the Cape Fear River and out into the Atlantic Ocean for some beautiful sailing south. Boat projects are well underway! Priority is getting the hatch fixed that is in the V-berth, aka Aria's room. She doesn’t appreciate getting rained on in while trying to sleep, we don’t really blame her. Our boat didn’t come with a dinghy so we have been on the hunt for one. One of our new friends heard we were looking and just happened to have a dinghy sitting around. So, they gifted it to us. Matt has a good time bringing it around on it's maiden voyage. It's with a bit of a heavy heart that we are taking Mochyn Du home, without so much as a sail this season. She spent half of it being repaired and the other half I think we just had to focus on Lulu too much so she goes home having not even touched the water in the lake. We set sail for the stunning and remote Surin Islands, but the journey wasn’t exactly smooth sailing. As we made our way north, we had to dodge fishing boats dropping traps right across our path, keeping us constantly alert. ⛵⚠️ Once we reached this breathtaking marine park, we were rewarded with crystal-clear water and vibrant reefs—a diver’s paradise. 🐠🌴 This episode also marks an exciting milestone for us: we used our dive compressor for the very first time, running it entirely off our inverter aboard No Regrets 2. It worked beautifully and gave us total freedom to dive off the boat without needing to go ashore for fills. Avec sa nacelle relativement courte et ses étraves inversées avec une cassure d’angle, ce modèle reprend tous les codes visuels de la marque, mais avec bien sûr, si on le compare au 502, plus d’aisance sur le pont comme à l’intérieur.
