Whitehaven is an Australian company doing all their designs here and production in Taiwan. This particular model is a 2019 build and from what i saw this boat has been built exceptionally well and she's been built to last. But man is it cool! This week aboard our sailboat we hit a huge milestone in the refit — installing the sail drives, mounting the props, testing a new eco-friendly rudder paint, and moving the engines into place using a DIY bridge crane we built ourselves. It was a big week of progress and one of our most satisfying yet. ⚓ Project 1: Installing the Sail Drives With the mounting surfaces prepped and aligned, we finally lowered the sail drives into position and secured them — a major step toward getting this boat back in the water. ⚓ Project 2: Installing the Propellers Once the drives were in, we fitted the props and torqued everything to spec. Another big checkmark on the list. ⚓ Project 3: Painting the Rudders with F2 Eco We tested F2 Eco, a new opalescent white marine coating that’s just entering the recreational yacht market. It looks stunning and promises environmental benefits — we’ll be watching closely to see how it performs. ⚓ Project 4: Moving the Engines Into Place To move the engines into their homes and bolt them to the sail drives, we built a DIY bridge crane out of Unistrut and used a compact chain hoist from Amazon. It worked beautifully and made this huge job manageable. Every one of these tasks brings us closer to launching, and this week felt like a major leap forward. ⛵ In This Episode: Sail drive installation Propeller mounting Rudder painting with F2 Eco DIY bridge crane build Engine alignment and installation Real-life sailboat refit progress F2Eco link: https://f2ecousa.com/ Original music created with SUNO 00:00 Intro 00:38 Channel into 00:57 Install sail drives 04:28 Install props 10:00 Paint the rudders 19:31 Move engines into place 24:25 Wrap up 24:39 Coming up next week 24:59 Like and subscribe 25:29 End card ----------------------------------------------------------- #SailingLife #BoatRefit #CruisingLife #DIYBoatProjects #SailboatMaintenance #SailDrive #SailingCouple #EcoFriendlyBoatProducts #PropInstallation #MarineRefit #CatamaranRefit © Sailing Roam 2025

🧭 Was ist Orca überhaupt? #OrcaCore #Bootselektronik #SegelNavigation #OrcaUnboxing #SailingScirocco

After an epic shakedown cruise, and a month long refit, we are finally living our dreams! We have our old friend Tom with us, to help us out, while we settle into live aboard life. And we welcome a new crew member, Kattia. We explored Nassau and got lots of play time on the water before heading to Eleuthera. However enroute, I got news from home, and had to make an unexpected trip back to The States. Sea Dog kept on cruising through the Exumas, hitting some of the best spots in the Bahamas! Places that you only see on YouTube, like Compass Cay and Staniel Cay and Thunderball Grotto! The kids are really settling into this lifestyle and I am so proud of them. I was gone for one whole week, and finally reunited with Sea Dog and her precious crew in Georgetown, Exumas. Which meant I missed the entire Exuma chain. But it is mid May, and storm season is just around the corner... Stay tuned. #liveaboard #Bahamas #ThunderballGrotto #Catamaran #Leopard58

On the night of September 7th, 1934, a fire broke out on the Ward Line's luxury ocean liner the SS Morro Castle. The cause of the fire remains a mystery to this day, though many suspect arson. No survey, no sea trial. And there was one thing we couldn’t stop thinking about… the electrical system. More specifically, stray current (hello PTSD). It’s the invisible killer of boats. It doesn’t care how new your wiring is, how expensive your systems are, or how confident your installer was. If it’s there, it can quietly destroy props, shafts, rudders, deck fittings, bottom paint and more. And it happens far faster than most people realize. This time, we’re not taking any chances. We brought in the corrosion expert from Marine Protection Systems to run a full inspection and teach us what we should have known years ago… and we filmed every second of it. This video dives deep into one of the most important (and most overlooked) parts of boat ownership: Galvanic corrosion, stray current, anodes, shore power protection, and how it all actually works. A huge thanks to Jess and the team at @marineprotectionsystems3278 for the massive education. --------------- WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity. We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us. Things We're Most Curious About... GETTING OFF-GRID Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We've learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so. TALKING TO STRANGERS People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment. Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving. ALTERNATIVE LIVING These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. Creative, unique and inspiring people who challenge our ideas of home and community. What does restoring a 200-year-old Danish barn have to do with wooden boat building? Quite a lot, actually. In this episode, I travel to Denmark to help my friend Mikkel transition his online boatbuilding school into a hands-on learning space. Together, we repair and restore part of an 1800s timber-frame barn using traditional materials and methods — lime mortar, reclaimed bricks, scarf joints, and careful structural thinking. Along the way, we talk about: • Timber frame repairs and structural problem solving • Why lime mortar is better than cement for historic buildings • Reusing original materials whenever possible • How traditional construction mirrors wooden boat restoration • The philosophy of repair vs. replacement • Preserving history while adapting buildings for modern use There’s a strong connection between repairing an old boat and restoring an old building. In both cases, it’s about understanding structure, respecting materials, keeping as much original fabric as possible, and solving puzzles thoughtfully. We also visit the original site where the barn stood before it was moved in 1862, talk about Danish building traditions, and reflect on what it means to keep craft alive across generations. 🌐 Website: https://www.nomadboatbuilding.com 📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nomadboatbuilding 🛠 Support these videos on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/nomadboatbuilding If you enjoy traditional craft, timber framing, wooden boats, and thoughtful restoration work, consider supporting the channel on Patreon. Here's a simple guide of how I installed my 20GPH SeaWater Pro 120V AC powered watermaker. Working through the beginning of the system, though to the end. An easily installed watermaker that anyone can DIY(Do It Yourself). How a watermaker functions easily explained in less than five minutes! Being able to turn saltwater into drinkable fresh water out at sea is necessity. Weather you want to have access to cleaner water, be able to stay away from civilization for longer periods of time. Or just become that much more self sufficient. Whatever the reason, a watermaker is an expensive, but game changing machine to have onboard. Here is the same unit that I've installed: https://seawaterpro.com/products/110-220-volt-1-membrane-water-maker-system The company that manufactures and sell these(SeaWater Pro) has a great reputation for a reliable product, and amazing customer service. If something goes wrong, or you need something, you call them and someone will pick up and address your problem immediately. There is a reason most sailors and cruisers recommend this watermaker above all others. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Help support my channel & get exclusive/early access: https://www.patreon.com/adventuremandan 🤜🏼 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/adventuremandan.life/ 🤜🏼 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/adventureman_dan/ 👋🏼New Here?!?👋🏼 Hello & welcome! I'm Daniel aka "Adventureman Dan." I've been living on the edge, from one adventure to another for the past nine years. Stating in Central California with my first GoPro, through SoCal, Baja, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Alaska and throughout the whole USA. But for the past five years on my sailboat "Adventureborne" I'm open to unlimited possibilities of where I can go, and what I can do! #tour #catamaran #sailboat
