Winch, mast, birds and dancing We noticed the 23ST - 41 Meissner winch was slipping a bit. The forward deck light needed to be replaced and Steve was going to lift Karen up the main mast with a new bulb. As she started to ascend the mast, the Meissner 23ST - 41 winch started to slip and periodically get stuck. Well, you know what that meant. A new project, fixing the winch. After a lot of lubricating with Blaster, some light tapping and much coaxing, Steve was able to remove the winch from the mast. Upon careful examination, it was determined that one of the pins used to hold the gears in place was bent causing the movement of the gears to be erratic. Luckily we have three winches on the main mast, so back to the original plan of the day, changing the deck light. Using the port side winch, Steve was able with the aid of the WinchRite to quickly and easily lift Karen, sitting comfortably in a bosun's chair up the mast. The WinchRite is a cordless electric winch handle used to turn any winch into an electric winch and a bosun's chair is a short padded seat with an attachment for a halyard. Work finished for the time being, we were off to find wildlife. There were a few birds that were visible in the various wildlife parks we visited, but not as many animals as we hoped for. It was a very hot humid day, perhaps they were all resting comfortably in the shade somewhere. Many thanks and hugs to our subscribers. We love you all and love your comments. Can you use a shelter logic building as a permanent workshop? This is a question I've been asking myself for about 6 months. I finally bit the bullet and purchased a 36' long by 16' wide by 14' tall building. Total cost with shipping was over 8,000 bucks!! Putting up this building was extremely difficult. If it wasn't for my good friend who owns a crane I wouldn't have been able to do it by myself. The plan for this building is to make it my permanent place to build out 23' Crowley Beal boats. A video report covering the 2023 DF65 (Dragon Force) and DF95 (DragonFlite) Traveller Trophy event held at Lincoln Radio Sailing Club on 1st & 2nd April 2023. This event is part of an ongoing series of Model Yacht Racing events for DF65 & DF95 classes held once a month at various locations across the UK during 2023. Lincoln Radio Sailing Club is a very active club and regularly holds major Model Yachting events on the water at Scotland Farm. The DF65s raced on Saturday and DF95s on the Sunday. There was a large turnout for this event of 40 DF65s and 52 DF95s on Sunday. The racing was keen at this event with GBR team practising for the forthcoming Global Regatta at Fleetwood in May 2023. Radio Sailing (Model yacht racing) is a competitive form of yacht racing run along similar lines to dinghy racing and keel boat racing. Model yacht racing is a sport in which small sailboats under one metre in length are raced against each other in a controlled environment such as a pond, lake, or indoor swimming pool. Model yachts can be made of various materials such as wood, fibreglass, or plastic, and are powered entirely by using the wind. The sails of the yacht are adjusted by the sailor (Helm) using a radio control system to catch the wind and move the boat forward. This is the reason the sport is often referred to as Radio Sailing The races are typically organised in rounds, with multiple boats racing at the same time, and the winner being determined by which boat crosses the finish line first. Model yacht racing can be enjoyed both as a competitive sport and as a leisurely hobby, and is popular in many parts of the world. Participants in model yacht racing often have a deep passion for sailing and the art of building and racing model boats. They may spend hours tuning and adjusting their boats to achieve maximum speed and manoeuvrability, and may also socialise and exchange tips and advice with other enthusiasts.

Yess we are doing a GIVEAWAY!! Win a full week on board of Messenger for 2 persons. check the details in/under Vlog 25 Our gopro fell in the water and sank all the way to the bottom, 10 meters deep where it stayed for more then 2 minutes. Hermen swam down and picked it up but there came salt water running out of it.. We dis-assembled it and now its about time to put it back together to see if its still working. We very much hope so, because otherwise we can't film the beautiful underwater world while snorkelling and diving... On the 17th of April 2020 we left marina Port Ghalib in Egypt, heading south towards Sudan and Djibouti and finally Maldives. We will take it easy, enjoy the beautiful reefs of the red sea and keep an eye on the corona regulations of the ports we pass. Since many countries are closed we don't know where we will be allowed to go on land again, but we can survive 4 month without seeing anybody :) This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago. In Spain we decided to go with our own boat, and in no time we were the happy owners of 'Messenger'.
