In this episode, we say goodbye to the beautiful Pacific atoll Ahe as we are sailing to Rangiroa, the Atoll famous for its spectacular entrance due to strong currents and pretty hairy tidal water effect. This requires some planning not only arriving in daylight, but to time this with the tidal water that can create some serious challenges at the entrance. There are no tidal tables to look at, so I used my sailing experience to come up with a strategy to find the best timeframe this time. We might have been a bit too early on this one. I'm also sharing some updates on my steering issues and showing the reasons why things are a bit complicated. Für ihn kommt Gorm an Bord, ein erfahrener Offshore-Regatta-Segler und Teilnehmer der World ARC mit seiner "Nica". Weil in der Straße von Gibraltar der Wind bei unserer errechneten Ankunft auf Ost - und damit auf die Nase - drehen soll, entschließen wir uns, direkt nach Gorms Ankunft am Abend die Leinen loszuwerfen, statt noch eine Nacht in Cascais zu verbringen. Immer noch hinken wir unserem Zeitplan etwas hinterher. Zudem stellt sich die Frage, ob wir in Gibraltar Diesel bunkern müssen. Und wann wir die 50-Stunden-Inspektion der Motoren durchführen lassen. Zudem verlässt auf Mallorca ein Teil der Crew das Boot und hat bereits Flüge gebucht. Alles Faktoren, die die Reise beeinflussen. Nur eine Konstante gibt es: Jens Reckermann vom Restaurant VIVO! In Holzwickede zaubert jeden Tag in der Bordküche.
