As well as hosting the battle for World Championship glory, Perth 2011 is the principal qualification regatta for the sailing events at the London 2012 Olympic Games where 75% of the national places will be decided. The nine fleet racing events will all sail an opening series before the top ten in each event contest a double-points Medal Race to decide the final positions. The Medal Races have a target time of approximately 30 minutes and will take place close to the shore to allow spectators ashore to get close up to the action. Hier ein Beispiel, wie man aus einem Besuch mit einer Reisegruppe, ein Filmthema machen kann.

Super 8 Kamera im flexiblen Ewa-Marine Gehäuse. Zum Schutz der Zoom-Wippe gegen den Druck in der Tiefe wurde die Halbschale aus Kunstoff (Kinderüberraschung) mit Tesafilm drübergeklebt. Der Ton wurde mit einem Sony-Walkman WMD-6C aufgenommen und in der Nachbearbeitung (Avid) synchron angelegt. Die beiden UW-Lampen sind Marke Eigenbau. Eine hat 4 verschiedene Hallogenbrenner: 20W/35W/50W und 75W können wahlweise geschaltet werden. (Bleigel-Akku 9,5Ah) Die 2. UW-Lampe hat an der einen Seite 20W-Halogen und an der Seite 50W-Halogen. (Akku 10xNC Mono-Zellen 4Ah) Alle Aufnahmen entstanden freitauchend.

Alle Aufnahmen wurden in italienischen Gewässern gemacht: Marettimo, Ustica und Gianutri. Gedreht mit Panasonic DMC-TZ7. Der Zitterrochen befand sich eingegraben auf einer Sandfläche in 10m Tiefe direkt neben dem Anker. Nur die Umrisse waren schemenhaft erkennbar. Die Schleimalgen am Ende des Videos wurden auf 30m Tiefe gedreht, bedecken im Prinzip alles unterhalb ca. 25m Tiefe und drohen alles zu ersticken. Eine wahre Pest für das Mittelmeer! Length of this wreck is 54.9 meters. The wreck lies upright at a maximum depth of 108 meters. Visibility on the dive was 50+ meters and water temperature at 100 meters was 24 degrees of celsius. Swimming With Dolphins in the lush valley of Waimanalo in Hawaii, Crystal and I were swept away by the soft skin and friendly nature of these beautiful beasts. After some prodding, Crystal and I both got to ride and swim with these gentle animals. Happy 26th Birthday present, baby! Can't wait until next year.

Auch mit westl. Mittelmeer war der Sommer 2011 geprägt von ungewöhnliche starken Winden und Kälte. Die Wassertemperatur sank von 28C° Anfang Juli auf 21C° Ende Juli! Mitte Juli 2011 hingen wir 2 Wochen mit unserer Etap 28i auf Capraia fest. Ständig Windstärken zwischen 6 und 8 Bft. Die geplante Umrundung Korsikas viel somit aus. Auf der Rückfahrt über Nacht nach Giglio erwischte uns eine Kaltfront. Gedreht mit Sony HVR-V1E und Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7
