Negli anni ’60 l’IRI era indicato come modello positivo di intervento dello stato in economia; nel 1967 Petrilli pubblicò un libro intitolato Lo Stato imprenditore: validità ed attualità di una formula, in cui veniva esaltato il ruolo dell’IRI nell’economia italiana, e che fu tradotto in diverse lingue. Negli anni ’70, con la recessione, la funzione dell’IRI cominciò ad essere messa in discussione, ma Petrilli rimase presidente. La sua gestione fu criticata per la tendenza ad accentrare i poteri di gestione su di sé e su pochi dirigenti a lui fedeli (che vennero soprannominati “gli alani di Petrilli”). Notevole fu il suo scontro con il presidente dell’Alfa Romeo Giuseppe Luraghi, che finì per dimettersi dalla carica per sottrarsi alle pressioni ricevute per realizzare un terzo stabilimento Alfa in Irpinia, collegio elettorale dell’allora ministro dell’Industria Ciriaco De Mita. La sua immagine fu offuscata dall’emergere di alcuni scandali finanziari che coinvolgevano le società del gruppo e dai cattivi risultati di gestione. Surprisingly, for a small, hilly, but not mountainous island chain, Palau has several waterfalls. The most well-known and visited waterfall is Ngardmau Waterfall. At the waterfall area, there is Taki-Palau Eco Theme Park. The theme park offers 3 ziplines along the descent from the parking area to the waterfall, and a monorail train that also descends to the waterfall site. Ngardmau State collects a $10 fee to visit the fall, then visitors can pay extra for the fun theme park options to descend or take the lovely walking trail that follows some historic rail tracks from former bauxite mining and over some rocky cascades on the way. The fall doesn’t have a pool for swimming, but forms a bridal-veil-type falls that people can walk under for a refreshing massage, and a pleasant view of nature. Et ce, en un temps record de moins de 300 jours grâce à un trimaran de course, le « MOD70 Race for Water ». I visited the Esen shipyard in Bodrum, Turkey, and was impressed to find a young and dynamic team building a beautifully designed 50m single masted sloop. Project TROY promises to become an iconic sailing yacht for this decade, and I hope to follow her build and delivery closely.

Il Lino Sonego Team Italia chiude con delle buone prestazioni ed altre da rivedere, il gap tra i veterani e le new entry si è visto con onda formata, c'è molto da imparare, lo sapevamo sin dall'inizio, nessun problema per questo, c'è tutto il tempo per pensare a come migliorare alcune situazioni e consolidarne altre già positive, vittoria al fotofinish per la compagine di casa di The Wave, Muscat che vince all'ultima regata con coefficiente doppio davanti ai danesi di Sap Extreme Sailing Team per soli due punti e Red Bull Sailing Team, penalizzati da un incidente con Oman Air, accontentandosi del punteggio di riparazione.
