In the last couple of days of our trip we leave Finnhamn and head to an area called Lådna. The bow anchor is tested, the rain comes in and we sit out the night in our extremely cozy saloon. The next day an extreme sail race with “Laminate sail man” takes place… Hope you enjoy, cheers

Okay... we all know that seals come on board when you visit the Galapagos islands. But.. did you ever hear from Sloths on a sailboat?! A life sign from Mario and me! This video was produced a day before we got boarded and robbed in Panama and already uploaded for all our beloved Patrons. We want to thank everyone who was there in our darkest hours and support us when we needed it! Thanks for all messages, thoughts and of course the financial support you gave us! We are still not sure in which direction we will continue but it’s good to know that so many people want that we continue our dream! Thanks for everything! Nina and Mario

Part of leading an incredible boat life is celebrating everyday on the water. Whenever our schedules allow, we start the morning watching the sunrise. Today we saw something incredible, a giant Loggerhead Turtle laying its eggs on the beach. Estimates were the turtle weighed close to 300 pounds. It was an incredible sight! We share this experience with you. Enjoy!

It’s time to compare a Pogo 12.50 to our Plastic Classic Morgan 45! A friend has invited us to come sailing on a racer cruiser. It’s a very different experience from what we are used to! In this video, we include footage of our adventure on the Pogo while we reflect on the differences between racers and slow full keel boats, electric and diesel motors, and old vs new. We give a tour of both inside and outside the Pogo and discuss sail shapes, cruising styles, and electronics on board. We can’t wait to hear what you have to share in the comments! Last reported information about the disappearance of Andreas Sipsakas can be found here: https://www.noonsite.com/news/honduras-gorda-bank-missing-sailor/?fbclid=IwAR1pp2oqQ51rC4SWs75-AmojvyTftfDgDaZc27Mgl3aVO7g0oziJqMyCCWY Andreas youtube channel with last posted images can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k4bE7jUZD4 This sailor and his boat are missing from position 14 53.6 N by 080 26.8 W, or 26 NM ESE of the Gorda Bank off the coast of the border of Honduras and Nicaragua. Two EPIRBs were set off about midnight, and first vessel to respond was a freighter about 4 hours later. The only thing found was one of the activated EPIRBS and one life preserver. No debris field, normally associated with a collision at sea, or other sinking, was found. This area has been near the location of previous violent pirate attacks. See the Caribbean Safety & Security Net (safetyandsecuritynet.org) for past events. There is a possibility the vessel was taken over by pirates and towed or sailed to the coast of Nicaragua or Honduras. It is also possible the boat was stolen and re-named in order to make drug runs. We leave Taormina behind and make the 8 hour journey across to mainland Italy. We begin navigating the south coast of Italy which is not popular for cruisers due to the lack of sheltered bays and marinas! We find a cute little spot to stop overnight and then head to Rocella Ionica to pull into a marina for a few days so we could refuel, restock and fix a few things that broke along the way. In this episode of Sailing Millennial Falcon, we set sail after a long time of doing boat work in St Martin. Our plan was to head to St Barts however within our first hour of sailing, and 6 weeks out of practice, it wasn't coming together and pulled into the next bay over. Raring to go the next day, we sailed out the bay towards St Barts, testing our sailing skills, specifically poling out our jib. After the wind ended up pushing us a little more to the west than we liked, we decide to pull in to the quiet little uninhabited island of Ile Fourchue, St Barts. WANT US TO MAKE MORE VIDEOS? https://www.patreon.com/nahoa Cities and ports are necessary evils while sailing around the world. We try to stay on anchor most of the time. It’s free and way more beautiful. But now and then we have to pull into port for repairs or government formalities. In order to get there, and position ourselves for the sail down to Indonesia, we have to cross the country from West to East. Doing so requires some overnight sails that are unavoidable due to lack of anchorages. Fishing boats, floats and gear litters most of the waters of South East Asia. Many are unlit and cause us yachties to actually have to pay attention at night. FADS also known as Fish Aggregation Devices are everywhere. Often they have palm leaves attached underneath to attract a whole plethora of fish. In our next episode we will go on massive hunts in the back alleys of Cebu in order to repair our windlass (thing that pulls up our anchor). BE BRAVE. Conception Island is a small island in the Bahamas Southeast of Cat island and Northeast of Long Island. It is considered an out island and is definitely off the beaten track. It’s a small island and completely protected so there is no fishing or spearfishing allowed which helps keep it absolutely pristine and one of the most beautiful islands in the Bahamas!! Fellow boaters - I'm thrilled to share my latest project with you: MaintenanceROS! Crafted from my experiences aboard Starry Horizons, it's designed to simplify vessel and maintenance management, making life on the water even more enjoyable. Explore https://MaintenanceROS.com and enjoy an exclusive 20% discount for the first 6 months using promo code 'outchasingstars'. Seamlessly manage your boat's upkeep – let's embark on this journey together! ***** Disclaimer... ships in camera are much closer than they appear! In order to continue our Southeast Asia adventures, we had to make our way up the notorious Malacca Straits. This meant we were once again tangling with the big ships, with the added complication of lots of small fishing boats as well. Oh and the trash is still present, which has an annoying tendency to wrap around props. The winds and currents in this part of the world can be quite tricky, with sudden storms coming up that can bring northerly winds and currents that can be 2+ knots. The best forecast we could find was one with no wind at all so we topped off the tanks and with Amy's cousin Sarah onboard, we went for it (PS: Yes... I know there is some footage that's upside down. When I'm editing in Premiere, it's right side up and since we're in a place where data is super slow and $10/gb, you're just going to have to live with it. haha) Thanks for watching! Sailing Coco This week our friends Robyn and Scott meet us in Porto di Roma and we take them around the Mediterranean Sea along the Italian coast. We give them a boat tour and teach them how we live in our little boat. Meanwhile, Europe’s ‘Heatwave from Hell’ passes by and our poor friends suffer one of Europe’s hottest recorded temperatures for the time of the year!

GTFO plan #7: We want to share our GTFO plan to retire early and sail the world. In this video, Dennis shows how a seemingly simple repair of the alternator bracket arm snowballs and goes wild turning into an engine manifold removal, heat exchanger removal, engine exhaust riser removal, and several other projects on our 1984 Catalina 30' Tall Rig sailboat (a.k.a. our practice boat, a POS boat, and a super money sink). Please comment below and share your tips and tricks. We will do a shout-out to the best comment in a subsequent video. So don’t be shy! Please smash the SUBSCRIBE and LIKE buttons! Once we get 100 subscribers, we can name our YouTube channel! Originally built in 1972, Durbeck made some really heavy duty cruising yachts, built to go anywhere. The hulls on the fiberglass Durbecks are extremely thick and overbuilt, leading to a heavy-displacement cruiser like this one. In our opinions, this boat is a great deal for what it is. All old boats need work, but this one is pretty ready to move aboard and start a cruising lifestyle. The biggest things I would tackle would be the electronics, sails, and some cosmetic work, but for the price you can't beat this boat. I doubt you'll find a cheaper boat over 50 feet in this good of condition. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Make sure you make an informed decision on your next boat with this tool: http://sailingsoulianis.com/shop/ltl-boat-buying-dashboard/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This boat has been sold! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not-A-Broker Consulting: https://www.patreon.com/notabrokerconsulting Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/learningthelines/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/learningthelines/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Learning the Lines is a channel about us, an average couple in our 20's, with big dreams to be sailing the world by the time we're in our 30's. Yesterday at the Holy Trinity Parish Church, Cowes, several hundred people attended the 40th Anniversary Service for the 1979 Fastnet. Gerard Butler and his fellow lightkeepers on the Fastnet played a crucial role in monitoring the participating yachts in the mountainous sea conditions. He shared his story with the RORC. #RolexFastnetRace #1979Fastnet
