Ancient churches and monuments, we explore the island of Naxos by SCOOTER! We rent a scooter and explore Naxos by scooter in this episode. We see abandoned ancient statues, a bunch of old ancient churches, temples, and monuments. Greece has such a rich history and it is all connected to religion in some way. Other people have shown their synthetic standing rigging setups, but this video is made by the guy who invented the system that they all use! Watch and learn directly from The Rigging Doctor. Herby re-installs two synthetic stays on the mast and shows you the whole process! First, the stay is attached to the mast with a clevis pin and toggle. Second, the lashing is fed through the end of the stay and deadeye, then a purchase system is setup which can be tensioned using the cockpit winches. At the end, Herby ties everything off using a knot he developed called "The Shroud Frapping Knot". Lastly, Herby also discusses how to check for the correct amount of tension in your rigging and how to tune the mast so that everything is perfect. Also, on average, they eat up to 2.5x their body weight in other fish- every single day! They are so gluttenous, they can even get fatty liver disease and worst of all, wipe out entire reef populations with their overconsumption. They prey upon naive fish who do not recognize them as native predators, however, they also do not recognize humans as native predators either, so it is easy to hunt them and take advantage of their slow speeds! If you're near the ocean, get a hawaiian sling and get out there! In certain areas, eels, sharks, and even grouper wait patiently to steal lionfish off spears. So even if you don't want to eat it, leave it for the creatures out there adapting to prey upon lionfish, who would love the fresh catch.

Last year we escaped the Australian winter and flew to Thailand to go wake boarding at Thai Wake Park: Lumlukka. While there, we also completed the PADI Open Water Scuba Diver course in preparation for life aboard the catamaran. The Meri Crew sail on Frolic to the Exumas in January 2020. We leave from Florida and make a few stops in places we haven't been before, Great Harbor in the Berry Islands and Morgan's Bluff on the north end of Andros Island. Then we stop in at Nassau to take care of some repairs. Next we sail to the Exumas! We visit Waderick Wells, one of our favorite places from 2019. Die weltweit grösste Wassersportmesse hat einiges zu bieten! Für Biber musste ich nach einigem Equipment und verschiedenen Refit-Optionen schauen. Ich denke darüber nach, Biber einen neuen Motor zu gönnen. Der alte Wickström W1 ist zwar verlässlich, hat aber zu wenig Leistung. Und so habe ich länger mit Oliver, den ich am Stand von Allpa Marine getroffen habe, geredet und ihn über den Solé Mini 17 Diesel-Innenborder ausgequetscht. Ausserdem habe ich mit Jan-Willem von Premiumropes über die Erneuerung meines laufenden und stehenden Guts geredet. Es kommt wohl also einiges an Arbeit auf mich zu! Aber nicht alles war zielgerichtet. Ich habe viele bekannte Gesichter gesehen und auch ein paar neue, und habe mich besonders gefreut, einige von euch kennen zu lernen, die meine Videos schauen. Und was man sonst so auf einer Bootsmesse macht: natürlich habe ich Boote angeguckt! Zum Beispiel die neue Hallberg-Rassy 40C, die mit einem geschützten Centercockpit, einer grossen Achterkajüte und viel Stauraum für Langfahrt überzeugen kann. Ausserdem habe ich einen Blick in die Ovni 400 geworfen. Eine Alu-Yacht, die sicher einiges ab kann, aber dennoch nicht perfekt ist. Gibt es überhaupt die eierlegende Wollmilchsau? Das behalte ich vorerst für mich. Mehr dazu im nächsten Video, in dem ich euch mein ganz persönliches Traumboot vorstelle. Tra i comuni che hanno aderito all'iniziativa Plastic Free Challenge del Ministero dell'ambiente c'è anche il nostro, Santo Stefano Ticino, guidato dal sindaco Dario Tunesi. Nel corso di un convegno la dottoressa Manuela Vailati ha illustrato i problemi da affrontare per smaltire la platrica, mentre la nostra Giusy, boat manager su Blue Magic e biologa, ha spiegato perché è importante difendere il mare dall'aggressione della plastica.
