#Caribbean600 Watch the full start sequence (50 minutes) for all four starts in the 2020 RORC Caribbean 600. Filmed live from the start line at Fort Charlotte outside English Harbour with commentary from RORC CEO Eddie Warden Owen and Sevenstar Yacht Transport pro-sailor Wouter Verbraak. The impressive 73-boat fleet gathered outside Antigua’s English Harbour, relishing the prospect of racing 600nm in stunning conditions. A light south easterly breeze gave a gentle start to the race, but the fierce competition was exemplified by highly competitive starts right through the fleet. Lighter than usual conditions are forecast for the first 24-hours of the race, adding another level of strategy to the fascinating race around 11 Caribbean islands.
For a Sunday sail the wind was pretty bad. Or, to be precise, there was no wind at all. With some Turkish friends we decided to sail to Kaş harbour where our sail mates Ulrike and Jan from Germany staying for winter before joining our trip to Israel end of April. Actually it was Ulis birthday and we just wanted to sing a song. But then we moored up for a sparkling wine and another and another and took them with us to the lovely bay of Limanağzı just opposite of Kaş. Many thanks to Ceren and Serkan for the lovely food and drinks they had prepared.

Finally it's time to cross the Panama Canal for Seatramp! Mario just came back and we directly get ready to cross to the Pacific side of Panama. We are lucky to have our friend Jenna back on board for a while and she will help us thru the Canal together with Mirko and Juanjo from Shelter Bay Marina. In the first part we are going up the first 3 locks into the Gatun Lake. I did it already 2 times on another boat, Mario joined a Catamaran before, so we should know how it works, but of course it feels totally different to do it with the own boat. Welcome to this brand new family YouTube channel. The story of the "Cowboy in the Mountains." - or...Where our Sailing journey begins. Episode #1 About "Windward to Eden" We were once told that we seem to be in our element when we are swimming against the current in a river of rice. With our children leaving the nest soon, we have a goal to become live-aboard world cruisers. We've never been able to make a lot of money, and of course parenting takes up most of our time. And as we know, sailing is a rich persons game. As always, that's not the case. There are many out there sailing on a budget. Well, here comes another couple doing the same thing. We have never had a vacation together, nor even had a honeymoon. However do you know what the good thing is when having children young? You still have time when their off living their lives to enjoy yours! It starts with a sailboat. Learning to sail, working on the vessel, upgrading it to play around with the engineering of making the boat self-sustainable...and of course, family trips and plenty of sailing! We will be out learning the ropes, so to speak. In a few years, we will be selling SV Yemoja and upgrading to a larger sized boat: refitting for sustainable/cruiser/live-aboard/blue water capabilities, and sail the world. It's going to be an uphill battle to achieve our paradise, but we are willing to head "Windward" to get to our "Eden." We are raw, and not pro editors...but we hope you enjoy the channel! So "Subscribe" to our channel and join us on a hell of an adventure! _________________________________________________________________________ To help support this channel by becoming a Patreon, click here: https://www.patreon.com/Windward2Eden ___________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________ #NewYoutubeChannel #FamilyVlog #YoutubeChannel

*** NEW WEBSITE - NOW LIVE *** (August 2020) If you'd like to know more about us, our plans, our boat and this adventure, then be sure to check out our new website here: https://www.cluelessyachties.com Due to the endless storms lately, we haven't been able to get much boat work done, which is what we were hoping to bring you in these daily vlogs. However with lack of boat work footage, we have decided to call this memory Monday and take you back to summer 2019, when we had our boat renaming ceremony.
Yey!!! We have a new mast for our sailboat!!! Are you curious to know a little bit more about it? Check today's video out! If you are new here... we are a Brazilian couple that have just bought a 44ft hot galvanized steel sailboat (Dinieper Tropic 1200) and is on the mission of bringing her back to life after 22 years abandoned on the hard. Once we are done, the plan is to sail her to our home town Florianópolis so we can finish building our land base, a Tiny Shipping Container House that we are building ourselves without any prior experience. Are you curious? Don't forget to subscribe and join us every Monday for a new episode!! ____________________________________________________ Support our series: http://www.patreon.com/oddlifecrafting (Become a Patreon to get instant access to behind the scenes, extra pictures, perks, and even more) or you can donate through PayPal using: eduardocassol@gmail.com ___________________________________________________ Check our products on our online store: https://teespring.com/stores/odd-life-crafting-store OUR GEAR: Main camera: (SONY A6500) https://amzn.to/2KDqjdT GoPro hero 7: https://amzn.to/2KEma9r Rode Video Mic Pro: https://amzn.to/2z4plRm Main lenses: https://amzn.to/2KS6yy9 Lenses for detail: https://amzn.to/2ZcKaEG Small Tripod: https://amzn.to/2HdM8ih Big tripod: https://amzn.to/2KEi29G Tripod video head: https://amzn.to/2ZfDN7C Music on this episode: Caledonia - Shireman Join Arlist using our affiliated link and get 2 extra months for free: https://artlist.io/artlist-70446/?artlist_aid=OddLifeCrafting_407&utm_source=affiliate_p&utm_medium=OddLifeCrafting_407&utm_campaign=OddLifeCrafting_407 You can also get images to use in your videos: https://artgrid.io/Artgrid-114820/?artlist_aid=OddLifeCrafting_407&utm_source=affiliate_p&utm_medium=OddLifeCrafting_407&utm_campaign=OddLifeCrafting_407 #boatrefit #sailboat
