We finally remove the diesel! We'd be wanting to remove it because it's just a hunk of junk. Not only has it not been running for 5-10 years according to the previous owner, it's seized, missing an alternator, and missing a starter. Check out what we did, where we took it, and how much we sold it for in this DIY video. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not-A-Broker Consulting: https://www.patreon.com/notabrokerconsulting Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/learningthelines/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/learningthelines/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Learning the Lines is a channel about us, an average couple in our 20's, with big dreams to be sailing the world by the time we're in our 30's. We're not afraid to jump into anything, put in the work, and learn as we go. For this reason our channel is very DIY focused, with the goal to show anyone watching that a lot is possible if you're not afraid to make some mistakes along the way. I make travel vlogs sharing my ups and downs, adventures on motorbikes, sailboats, and vans. Instagram: @Finding_Simon Snapchat: Finding_Simon Twitter: @FindingSimon Donations: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon Merchandise: http://simonstiles.com/finding-simon/ :::::::FAQ::::::: - How do you afford to travel constantly? A: I travel really cheap, free camping, cooking my own meals, being as efficient as possible. I make my income almost entirely on YouTube but it's really tight. Ad revenue, patreon, paypal donations, merchandise sales and affiliate links bring in about as much as a part time minimum wage job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough I go back to work, doing photography mostly, sometimes commercial video projects, but it takes me away from my travels and videos. - How much does it cost? I spend on average $2000 travelling, most of which is gas, some repairs, food, and on average less than $200 on any eating out, shopping or extra curricular expenditures. I make $200 a month from YouTube and $400 from Patreon. The rest I make from my work. - What camera do you use? Sony A7ii, DJI Mavic Pro, Rode Videomic with Deadcat, Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, DIY tripods and lights. - What is your bike? 1999 Yamaha Vstar XVS1100 with a Champion Escort sidecar. - What kind of boat is that? It's a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 - What're your plans? Fix it up, run nothing but green power, sail off into the sunset. - How do you find all these cool places? To gain access to my complete research you need to hit me up on Patreon, but here's a few sites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/ https://www.campendium.com/ http://www.atlasobscura.com/ https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - What do you do for Internet? I use coffeeshops and libraries to upload episodes a few at a time, I also use my wifi antenna (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T9lNM8Mukk&t=2s) and a data package on my phone (10GB) - How do you live on the road with a dog? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with my dog anyways, especially if it's warm out in the middle of the day. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make some decisions, avoiding places that ban dogs, and spending more time out in nature instead of in the cities. - What happened to the girl? We decided to go separate ways (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPgxDIXxCjY&t=4s) - Are you rich or something? definitely not. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? The top perk on my Patreon page is a live link of my location on google maps so you can get an active idea of where I am currently. If that's not an option for you there's also Instagram and Instagram stories that give you a much better idea of what I'm up to today.

In this video, 300 Nautical Miles and Crossing a Reversing Falls, join us as we leave the Saint John River by way of the Famous and dangerous Reversing Falls then embark on our 300 Nautical Mile journey across the Powerful Bay of Fundy and around the bottom of Nova Scotia! If you like our videos, please SUBSCRIBE to see more, and be sure to give this video a like, Thanks! In August of 2017 I sold everything and moved aboard Balachandra, a 1986 C&C44 sailboat, then sailed it over 300 nautical miles to Halifax Nova Scotia to spend a cold Canadian winter in the frozen waters of the North Atlantic. Sailing Balachandra is my YouTube sailing vlog inspired by other great channels such as Delos and La Vagabonde, which documents the sailing adventures of myself and the occasional crewmembers(s) as we navigate the east coast of North America and beyond. I also dive into lots of DIY boat projects both above and below decks, and share with you all of the pros and cons of living aboard in a cold climate. Sailing Balachandra is published weekly so please subscribe so you don't miss out on future videos! We embark on a 250 nautical mile sail from New Caledonia across the deep Hebrides trench to Vanuatu. Hand steering for 3 days & 2 nights, just the two of us... https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we check out of New Caledonia and set sails to a new country. We leave Noumea with some challenging trade wind conditions. Strong winds force us to hide away for the afternoon and night sail to reach anchorages to wait for tidal currents to allow us to exit reef passes. We need all the elements in our favour to move in the right direction! Once clear of the outer lagoon, we set our sails and begin the open water crossing through Loyalty islands. We have a long period of time with little wind and end up drifting at sea. The wind returns and we sail across the deep Hebrides trench. This trench is over 6000m deep in places! We finally arrive to our destination of Tanna Island, Vanuatu. It was a 3 day and 2 long night journey, hand steering 250 nautical miles with just the two of us. Travelling is challenging at times in a foreign country, that is part of the fun! We sail to the city, prepare the boat, provision and check out of New Caledonia... https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we try to sail south east from the greatest surf spot in New Caledonia. We finally have a plan for our future and this involves heading to the city of Noumea to check out of the country. We have some challenging trade winds to negotiate whilst day sailing for 3 days to return to Noumea. Once back in the big smoke it is time to prepare Nandji for our future adventures. We plan to sail north and to more remote areas, therefore we have to make sure Nandji is ready to do this. We fix any minor issues and try to eliminate any problem for the future where we will have no resources to fix stuff. We attempt all this in a foreign country where not many people speak our language or choose to assist. The challenges of travelling are always exciting and keep life interesting, that is why we travel in the first place!

E59 Weekly Vlog of Life in a Nutshell travels. The last part of the motorbike tour across Australia. As we pass through the great deserts, along dusty, seldom used tracks, we see loads of wrecks along the side of the road. We pop into a few iconic pubs for a beer or two and experience the last few nights of tranquility in the Australian bush. The riders have a go at Magnus’ races and eventually the tour ends up in Fremantle, Western Australia, at the Indian Ocean, after a 17 day trip across this vast land. We hope you enjoyed traveling along with us both on this outback adventure. Thank you all so much for watching. Numerous folks asking me about how we ditched our rubber impeller and ultimately ditched our RAW WATER PUMP entirely on the Onan generator we have onboard Catamaran Impi. I was busy compiling a FULL OVERHAUL video for my son explaining how to strip and assemble the entire water system on the Fresh and raw water side of the generator, and thought to use some of the material to explain the VERY BASICS of how to remove the headache we as cruisers have around the rubber impeller replacement as well as sharing some further insight into raw water systems, so the NEWBIE exploring sailors out there can learn some of what we have learned from others along the way. I would like to make it clear that this video is not intended for the 'expert' who is looking for a 'quick fix and get to the point video' - it is intended to help others understand some of the logic behind this and ultimately also provides the solution with a bit more detail in the installation. So - if you are an expert in all things technical - simply forward to the relevant parts of the video that interest you. To put credits where credit is due - I must thank my cousin Kent @ JUST CATAMARANS in Florida, who initially gave me the idea to remove the rubber impeller in lieu of a March pump much like those used in air conditioning. If you need to purchase the correct pump, perhaps just give Kent the specifications and he will ship one out to you. #BoatMaintenance #BoatSystems #Technical

Seamlessly manage your boat's upkeep – let's embark on this journey together! ***** S/V Julia sailed into Hilo, Hawaii on June 5th after 15 days at sea to mark the end of our second Pacific Crossing! And fortunately, this part of the passage didn't require me to jump in the ocean! Instead, we got to focus on fishing, sailing (after finding the tradewinds) and even doing a few repairs out at sea. It wouldn't be a true passage otherwise, right? Another huge thanks to Susan and Tom for asking us to help them with this ocean passage. We had a great time with you guys! With thirteen days on the ground, the Lisbon assembly period was not only one of the longest service stops our team will face, it is also the start of a year-long, round-the-world service project. Ahead of the race start in October, the crews put their boats through their paces, getting as much time to bond with their boat and crew members as possible. Rigorous training was in full swing with races that included the iconic Rolex Fastnet, followed quickly by Leg 0 which led the teams back to Lisbon. On arrival, the boats were handed over to the dedicated teams at The Boatyard. For those of you who may not have heard of The Boatyard, it is a shared maintenance facility 80 m by 20 m (262′ by 66′) fully stocked with all the parts, equipment, and knowledge required to service every component on the boats. Best of all The Boatyard is open to the public at each stopover, allowing visitors to see first-hand the team of specialists at work. It really is the ultimate Formula One pit stop!

On this episode of Sailing Vessel Triteia I dive below to check the propellers position before setting the engine in its final spot and drilling the new holes in the engine bracket. I then continue on hooking up the control cables, exhaust system and fuel lines and finally hooking up the water intake to the broken seacock. I watched the sea flow into my boat as I switched from the old to the new hoses, which is a very unsettling feeling even for just a moment. This is part 3 of 4 episodes of the engine installation. The next episode will show me installing the control panel and batteries, finishing up the last few things before attempting to start the engine for the first time. I hope you enjoy this episode and if you do please give it a “thumbs up”! In this Video, WE BOUGHT A BOAT, Meet Dan and Hadley for the first time and follow us to St. John, New Brunswick where we purchase our dream boat, a C&C 44 racer/cruiser. Music by Keith Beard Really appreciate the support, check out the Patreon for more access and perks: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon If Patreon isn't your thing, I also have a Paypal.me link: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel to world.

Fellow boaters - I'm thrilled to share my latest project with you: MaintenanceROS! Crafted from my experiences aboard Starry Horizons, it's designed to simplify vessel and maintenance management, making life on the water even more enjoyable. Explore https://MaintenanceROS.com and enjoy an exclusive 20% discount for the first 6 months using promo code 'outchasingstars'. Seamlessly manage your boat's upkeep – let's embark on this journey together! ***** Our second passage across the Pacific Ocean finally begins! San Francisco Bay gifted us a lovely fog to get started and off we went back out under the Golden Gate Bridge. The first few days at sea were a bit rough as we sailed upwind to avoid some nasty weather to the south of us. When we were finally able to turn and head towards the trade winds, we found ourselves smack in the middle of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. And sure enough, Julia got hooked on several large pieces of fishing net. Jumping into the middle of the ocean to free the props was one of the most nerve-wracking moments I've had on a boat, but fortunately the seas were calm and everything went okay. For those curious about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and what you can do to reduce your impact on Ocean Pollution, here are a few links: GPGP: https://marinedebris.noaa.gov/info/patch.html Ocean Pollution: http://www.noaa.gov/resource-collections/ocean-pollution How You Can Help: http://ocean.si.edu/ocean-news/how-you-can-help-ocean Be sure and subscribe to catch lots more videos coming up! Click here... http://www.patreon.com/Nandji In this episode of Sailing Nandji, it is finally time to go chasing some waves. We set out on an adventure north from Noumea and surf some of the passes in the reef. Out of respect to the local surfers, we can not tell you exactly where we were though! Also we want to go come back one day and surf with noone once again! We have some strong winds and some exciting sails as we fly up the coast in search of waves. There is some surfing action from a couple of spots however we were asked politely not to film the wave and put it all over the net, so only a few waves were captured. Whilst on our trip, Bonita came face to face and a little close for comfort with Sea snake! She captured the encounter on camera which is very brave and a little closer then we would have liked considering we were in the middle of no where! We use a new sailing technique for the first time and fly down wind in the light breezes. The bay at Gadgi has crystal clear waters and the hundreds of little islands provide some of the most amazing landscape we have ever seen. We finally could take the time to relax and enjoy our surroundings. Hi Everyone, Today’s video is a step by step on how to replace the serpentine accessory belt on a 2004 Porsche 911/996TT Turbo. It is a little different than the normally aspirated cars, but should be the same for a GT3 and GT2. It is a straight forward process and I take you through each step. I even give you a trick on how to get that air box out and back in super easily. The part isn’t that expensive and I believe the service interval is 60K miles so we are just due. Tools and parts: • Replacement Belt - 999-192-379-50 • 7mm Nut Driver • 13mm Socket • 14mm Socket • Extender • Ratchet • Torque wrench • 24mm long wrench We hope you enjoyed the video.
