Ep20: Down to Decize. At BAYE we reached the top of CRUISING the Nivernais Canal which is fed from the reservoir. Now the descent to Decize through 34 locks. We found a tiny unknown gem of a restaurant, suffered weed infested water, the lowest bridge and deepest lock. The NIVERNAIS experience reaches its climax as we prepare to enter the final destination, but for automation ceasing operation on a lunch break! Then, just as you think it's all done and dusted on the homeward stretch, a big drop . .? The voice over for this episode was recorded during a mistral wind and it was too noisy on the boat! We really needed to find a "quiet" spot to record - that didn't happen and I'm sure you'll spot the difference! I get to go and meetup on the water with my friends that are gooey duck harvesters, you’ll get to see a little bit of the operation on how things work. Then we spend the rest of the day on the beach in the sun with our pup Westerly.
