Nous retournons à Coco Banderos retrouver nos amis du catamaran Black Lion, Patrice essaie d’apprendre à boire avec Cyril, nous allumons un feu de camp sur la plage et Magalie nous concocte de délicieuses bananes au chocolat sur le feu. Toute bonne chose à une fin et nous devons encore une fois dire au revoir à des gens qui ont croisé notre route, mais qui resteront dans nos cœurs pour toujours. The Party is OVER! In 2 days ~ No more unlimited Starlink in the ocean We all knew this day was coming we just didn’t expect it to be so harsh. Starlink has dropped their Monopoly hammer and has put together a new service for us sailors. Yes, they do have a Mariner plan available, but the cost of that is way out of reach for the large majority of people on boats. We have until May 9th to choose our next service plan and to be honest I’m not 100% sure what we are going to do. The coverage info is very grey and I think it is going to end up being a, try it out and see kind of situation. Being digital creators is how we are making money for our cruising kitty. We love sharing our adventures with you. This is how we stay connected with friends and family, do weather routing and trip planning, research for boat repairs and let’s be honest keep up with social media, but the list goes on and on. We also had plans to start working at remote companies online. These things are now very difficult thing to accomplish. The big hope is that we are just going through growing pains and everything will work out in the end. Thank you for being here, for watching and supporting our channel. DIESEL BUG in 35 Year Old SAILBOAT Fuel Tank I Ep. 67 In this episode, we head back to the 1980s to clean some diesel bug in our 35 year old sailboat! You may remember a few episodes back, our engine failed leaving our berth in Plymouth, to a blockage in the fuel tank. This was down to diesel bug and we finally got around to cleaning the tanks, removing the diesel bug and installing an inspection hatch. Bir süredir teknede problemler üst üste geliyor. Tam mazot deposundaki kaçağı kontrol altına aldık, bir sonraki durağa geçelim derken bu sefer de bilinmeyen bir sebepten ana yelkenin mandarı sıkıştı. Her fırsatta direğe çıkmak en büyük keyfim ama işler okyanus ortasında pek bildiğim gibi değilmiş. Ben biraz sallanırım, tutunmakta sıkıntı yaşarım ama iş yürür dye düşündüm. Hava sakin, dalgalar küçük olmasına rağmen direk rodeo gibiydi. Sürekli beni üzerinden atmaya çalıştı. Üstüne üstlük yıllardır ilk defa deniz tuttu. Midem azımda direğin tepesine ulaştım ve mandarı kesip yelkeni indirdim. St Vincent adası konusunda biraz endişeliydik. Bütün bu sıkıntıların üzerine en azından Cumberland güzel bir yer çıktı. Belki güzelin de ötesinde aynı ev, aynı Gökova gibi. Sakin denizde 3 tur daha direk tepesi yaptıktan sonra problemi çözdük. Cumberland'den Bequia'ya geçerken ilk defa sorunsuz bir seyir yaptık. Ufak tefek damlatmalar sayılmaz. Da aber totale Flaute ist und für die Nacht kein weiterer Wind angesagt ist, reicht uns ein großer Kettenhaufen als Gewicht. Key West befindet sich mit gut 25.000 Einwohnern am Ende der Florida Keys. Wir gönnen uns in der City Marina einen Mooringball, denn es ist wieder viel Wind angesagt. Hier im Mooringfeld liegen fast ausschließlich Dauerlieger, die wahrscheinlich in der Stadt arbeiten und auf ihren Schiffen wohnen. Wir mit unseren 3 Übernachtungen sind da eher ein Fremdkörper. Das Stadtbild von Key West ist geprägt durch unendlich viele hervorragend gepflegte historische Gebäude aus der Kolonialzeit. Man sieht, dass in Key West viele wohlhabende Intellektuelle wohnen. Key West hat einen verhältnismäßig großen Anteil an Schwulen und Lesben und ist für diese Gruppen auch ein beliebtes Reiseziel. Außerdem ist Key West das Zuhause für viele exzentrische Bewohner und zieht auch viele entsprechende Besucher an. Groß ist das Angebot an charismatischen Restaurants und Kneipen wie das „Green Parrot“, die „Whistle Bar“ oder die „Schooner Warf Bar“ entlang der Duval Street oder im Historischen Hafen. Plötzlich beschleunigte sich mein Leben erheblich, ich verkaufte mein Haus, löste den Hausrat auf und begann Berge an Schiffsausrüstung anzuschaffen. „Leinen los!“ war für Anfang März 2021geplant – und so kam es auch, trotz Corona. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Plan International ist ein internationales Kinderhilfswerk.
