This week we talk about craftsmanship and how to hone a craft. For us, it is about hand cut dovetail joints. Our boat has some on it, so we figured we should learn and carry on that tradition. As I plan and design the new teak frames for the ports, I want them to match the look and style of the other parts of the boat. I practiced making hand cut dovetails using pine before doing so with the expensive teak wood. In this episode, we lay out some possible framing and joint solutions, make a few and learn from our mistakes. I hope you find this interesting and helpful for work you may be doing. I am certainly not a pro at this so by all means, feel free to provide some comments, suggestions or feedback on how to make these joints better. Due to a major family event this week, we were unable to do a lot of filming. However, we finally got a better editing set up. This was the latest wedding cake Becky did. It turned out nice. Of coarse, she wouldn't agree lol... She so picky.. haha.... Anyway, hope you like it! With some prayer on your part and some mercy from God, we will be able to film this coming week. Now that the editing set up is fixed, I'll be filming much more "on the water" stuff! Music is from the Youtube library. All the footage was shot with my Samsung Galaxy S8.
