We've cruised our sailboat along the ICW all the way to Cumberland Island, the Southernmost barrier island of Georgia. It's time to explore Cumberland Island - land of the wild horses - and to see if the cousins of the Carrot Island herd are as bloodthirsty as their kin. No joking now... Cumberland is WONDERFUL. This is a place here we would definitely like to revisit for at least a week, to thoroughly explore, and to experience this wild and wonderful place all over again. SSV Oliver Hazard Perry is back in the water after a winter yard period at J. Goodison Shipyard in Quonset Rhode Island

After living in the area for 4 1/2 years and always wondering what was inside the caves at Sunset Beach, we FINALLY got an opportunity to adventure out there. People are not allowed to climb on the Island, because it is a bird sanctuary, so we stayed on the beach below. The water is usually pretty cold in Coos Bay, Oregon, making it undesirable to adventure out too far. The caves were spectacular and finding the hidden 3rd cave was very exciting! The last couple of videos showed my sailing my 10ft 2 sheet plywood dinghy Duo. This clip shows me first rowing and then motoring it. Rowing I could just manage 4 knots on the gps (I am an unfit 62 year old). Motoring using a 2.5hp Suzuki I did 8. Obviously it trims better with two on board. Having said that we rarely motor as it is so easy to row, even with two on board and a couple of weeks of shopping This dinghy was built in two days (painting took longer!). ROVER has been a well cared for Catamaran.Recent refits include new custom hard top, new house battery bank, new fuel tank, new bronze through hulls, new stack pack, lazy jack lines and UV strip and bottom paint peal. New application of barrier coat with two coats of fresh bottom paint. Rover is clean and ready to cruise.
