Miarczynski has competed at three Olympic Games with his best performance, a fifth, coming at Athens 2004. He will be looking to gain that elusive medal come London 2012.

Walvishaaien kan je met een beetje geluk wel op meerdere plaatsen ter wereld vinden, maar nergens anders zijn ze zo rustig in de nabijheid van duikers (geen angst van bubbels of flash), nergens anders kan je er zo lang mee duiken, en nergens anders blijven ze er het hele jaar door. Uiteraard zijn walvishaaien niet de enige rede om naar Ahe te gaan. Er is een overvloed aan riffen in de buurt, zowel ondiepe slopes als indrukwekkende drop-offs.
