Mit dem Mietwagen geht es los über die Insel. Wir suchen uns direkt eine schöne Bucht zwischen den Klippen und versuchen von möglichst weit oben zu springen. Mallorca überrascht uns abermals mit seiner Schönheit. Behaftet mit ihren Vorurteilen ist die Insel allerdings ganz anders als wir sie erwartet haben. Einfach sehr schön! Auch as Angeln klappt endlich. Mit der neuen Angel haben die Fische auf einmal richtig Lust an Bord zu kommen. Bislang haben wir die Biskaya überquert, schwere Situationen in Spanien und Portugal gemeistert, den Atlantik in 22 Tagen überquert und wir haben es geschafft unseren Motor auf Guadeloupe zu reparieren. Jetzt geht unser Weg weiter richtung Westen. Die nächsten 2 1/2 Jahre werden wir nutzen um den Pazifik zu durchqueren, den indonesischen Raum zu erkunden und letztendlich nach der Umrundung des Kap der guten Hoffnungen wieder Fuß auf europäisches Land zu setzen. Minerva reef is an incredible parcel of paradise conveniently located 250 miles south of Tonga, making it a great anchorage to break up a yacht's passage from Tonga to NZ. There's no shelter as such, just a ring of reef with white sand and coral inside, luckily we had a few days of perfect calm weather to make the most of our stop in Minerva. These were idyllic days, snorkeling, spear fishing and hunting for crayfish. A most enjoyable few days rest and a seafood feast! We were not alone, there were 12 other boats in the anchorage, which shows just how popular this route is for yachts at this time of year, we also had the New Zealand Air Force One Orion fly over and request the names of all the boats and whether we had submitted our pre-arrival form to NZ customs! Efficient work by our home country! We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures!
