Where it all began - Greenwich Sailing Club
Boxing Day on Sydney Harbour means one thing for anyone interested in sailing ….. The Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. As we head up the Harbour to catch the start it was great to glide by my old stopping ground where my sailing Journey began on very 45 years ago. This little stretch of water on the Parramatta River produced many champions sailors, with the inter-club fleet of the 1980’s producing multiple Olympians and a couple of gold medalist for good measure. It was great to see Greenwich Sailing Club still nestled between Mann’s Point, Hunter’s Hill and Cockatoo Island, bringing back memories of my Manly Junior racing with Big Sister Katie H at the helm of Tuff Tiger MJ 2528….
